Gelateria La Crema Matta — Restaurant in Lucca

This used to be a great ice cream place, but now something strange is going on.

Try this: Go in, look at the price list and order a small cone (2.50E), then see what they charge you (3E).

Hmm....Very shady price changing without explanation. It didn't use to be like this - you paid what was on the price list.

If you have to nickel and dime people and can't stand on the strength of your product alone, you don't deserve me as a customer.

I feel bad for the tourists who don't know any better and don't speak enough Italian to argue for the correct pricing. Based on my research, this little bait and switch is a violation of the Italian Consumer Code. (I'm not a lawyer, just an educated consumer).

If the locals stop coming, it will be a cold lonely future for Crema Matta. There are too many other ice cream places in Lucca for me to put up with this shady price manipulation.

Thank you for your prompt response. I would be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but this has occurred repeatedly and to multiple people. Further, my reviews may be in English, but I speak Italian at a C level, and there is nothing wrong with my pronunciation.

This place was garbage. You tell them what you want and they totally do what they want. I asked the woman to give me four flavors and when I was naming the third she said I couldn't add anymore. All I asked was four flavors!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked with my fingers up in case she didn't understand. But still, didn't listen to me. She made me pay for it. Also the flavors sucked... didn't taste half as good as others I had in the city of...

Not bad. That's all. Was so creamy and rich but i couldn't feel any flavours what were written. I took La crema Matta(pasty cream, pistachio and glazed nuts and something else), Mascafone with figs and walnuts and spagnola croccante(cherries with glazed nuts), i could feel only pasty cream not pistachio or something else and i could barely feel mascafone mostly milk cream and the cherries from gelato was cherry SYRUP not...
