Rude, Rude, Rude....We arrived yesterday to be sat at a table we weren't particularly wanting to be sat at, the young waiter came across with a menu, and I asked if we could also have a drink menu and he pointed at the menu then said "flip it" very abruptly. Another waiter came to take our order and the dish I ordered for my main meal was not available, as I continued to look at the menu he said I had been told that already????? I explained I had not been told and he said "yes you have" so I again said I had not and he said yes you have???? I asked if he was calling me a liar and he said "yes" at that stage we got up to leave and he started very aggressively shouting at us and continued to do so as we left the restaurant. I suggest customer service and anger management training. I cant comment on the food as we didn't get the chance to order.

In response to the owner's comments, I have to admit as people who have travelled all over the world and this our 3rd trip to Lucca I am apoplectic at the response. I will dignify it no further than to say the issue was with the problem over the food and the ignorant response and rudeness of the waiting staff.... not in the slightest with drink. Our priority was lunch.. yes we did order some house wine but the "spritz" I ordered was frizzante water... it was 30+ degrees!!! And at no time were we asked to leave as we were on our way out before the aggressive waiter was shouting abuse at us. All I can say in response to their blatant lies is to check out the...

Summary: The restaurant now threatens me for a bad review on tripadvisor! I am shocked what kind of people can run a restaurant! Awful! Shame on you! Tourists beware!

Unfriendly to tourists. They refused us when we called them to book a table. They said: italian only - full - and hung up the phone. I assume there should be written “only for locals”. Edit after arogant response: you didnt even know when we want a table. And no, you weren’t full. And your opinion about english language is really limited. It is a shame! As I said. For tourists really unfriendly. Why to support such a restaurant? No reason. They should have manners to all customers. But instead you see a board with a lot of restrictions what customers are not allowed to. Manners people!

Edit again: I am glad you admitted that your response was really terrible, so you changed it whole. But you are the one who tells lies. We called you to book a table. You dont care about tourists so you hung up, not even try to understand. Then we came to your place and tried our luck in person and you had tables - only inside you said. We wanted to try your restaurant because it was highly recommended and we love good food. There was only one who was kind to us - the smiling elegant gentleman. You can be mad, but only on yourself and your terrible behaviour to tourists. I speak the truth. Everything will come back to you, no worries. Even this “hunt”...

Unfortunately not as authentic and lovely as expected. The food is average at best and the service from some of the staff is alright, but the overall experience didn't impress us. To start with, we went there an hour before opening to get a table. A man, probably the owner said in Italian that we couldn't book a table. He seemed a bit annoyed that we had disturbed him. We arrived just after opening and wanted to get one of the available tables outside, this wasn't possible for some reason so we had to sit inside next to the kitchen door. We could only have house wine by the glass (an actual tiny class for water), not any other wine that was only available by the bottle. Food was ok, except for a steak that was absolutely bland, served with nothing but a lemon. There are signs all over the place saying things that they seemed tired of answering the customers about, like "NO WIFI!", "STAY AT YOUR TABLE UNTIL TOU GET THE BILL". You even have to pay if you want olive oil, and there is in the menu a line saying that you have to pay to bring your own drink. I mean of course you do, but do you really need a sign in the menu for it? Overall, look for a good restaurant somewhere else.

Edit/update: I'm actually not surprised that you seriously give grades to your customers according to how much they like your place. Reminds me of some episode of...

Amazing place! The food was delicious, and the service was incredible. I had the privilege of meeting Anna and she was so fun and lovely. We had a great chat and she recommended a few dishes to me. The others servers were also polite and friendly. I had the bruschetta which was very very good. The local olive oil is to die for. Next I had the beef ravioli in ragu sauce, also very delicious. Very meaty and filling. For my main I had the luchesse stew with rabbit, beef, pork, chicken and potatoes. I really wanted to try something local and this was it. Overall is quite good, but there were some bones it. Didn’t bother me, but I know it might bother some others To finish it off I went with the chocolate tart which DEFINITELY fulfilled my chocolate craving. Highly recommend. Overall, this place is great but it does get busy. I showed up at 19:20 alone and I was able to get s table inside. If you want to sit outside you need to make a reservation, and if you want to have dinner here at all just get here when they open. Enjoy!

This is a wonderful restaurant to eat local Luchese traditional food. It is not a tourist trap. The menu is simple. Everything is freshly made. You will not be disappointed. He fills up fast so make a reservation early. Has outside seating that is limited, but it it on a rather busy lane, but he has a acrylic fence around the tables. Insude seating has AC. Has only white and red house wine. Come hungry. The portions are perfect for one or two people. The family all work there and is such a fun and friendly experience. This is a true Italian restaurant like the food I grew up with that my Italian parents cooked. My husband had Luchese tortelli ragu, I had tagitalle ragu and my daughter had gnocchi pomodoro. Then our main dishes were rovellini with tomato sauce and capers, I had the beef stew. So delicious. We even took some food home. The bread is locally baked and was like a wheat bread. I did see some gluten free items, but call and check first. We are going back soon as we are in Lucca until the 30th of June.

Best meal in Tuscany during our 9-day trip! Out of all the meals we had, this one stood out by far. The ciccia tagliata di manzo was perfectly cooked — juicy, flavorful, and just right. But the real surprise? The baked potatoes. Absolutely dreamy. They were so good we actually ordered another round just for the side dish! The setting added to the experience — a romantic terrace with a beautiful view. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend making a reservation, but we were lucky to get a table without one. Truly unforgettable!
