Antica Trattoria da Pino — Restaurant in Marsala

Everything went wrong. Having been encouraged by many good reviews and following the reco of our host, we decided to try. The service seemed to be okay in the beginning, our order has been collected quite quick. Wine came first as expected (were happy with their reco, so one star for that).A starter came also in a normal time. The starter was okay, but far from outstanding. Then, the problems started: we were waiting more than 50 minutes (!) for the main course. Tired, sleepy and hungry (it was already quarter past ten), we decided to pay for starter and leave. When asked for a bill, the waiter magically did forget his English. When the main finally arrived, we hoped that the enormous waiting time will be balanced out with great food. Nothing like that happened. Grilled pulpo was actually fried (I specifically don’t like the fried one) and salted to death. Same with pasta con le sarde: salty as hell portion of sardines with tomato sauce (the nuts and raisins which were supposed to be in the dish were nowhere to be found). The green salad I asked for as a side was truly green. Nothing but lettuce without any dressing or spices. As the situation was notably tense, we were offered a compensation (as it had been presented): two half glasses of Marsala wine (served to anyone by default, seen on other tables) and a tiny tiny piece of Cassata (not looking very fresh). This is a place my family who lives there introduced us to on our last trip to Marsala 2 weeks ago and we will definitely be coming back each visit. The place was filled, every table. The vibes were great, very lively place but not noisy, just great energy. We ordered an appetizer platter. fritto misto, cappuccetto (my favorite), grilled whole octopus, pesce spada, and our favorite - gamberi rossi (red prawns). They kept the wine flowing as well, and offered us lemon sorbet after, and Marsala. The food was perfectly cooked, every dish. They have english menus as well. The staff was attentive and lovely. Ho pranzato in questo local insieme ad altre tre persone e tutte siamo concordi sul parere in merito al locale AMBIENTE : Semplice, tavoli in legno con gambe snelle, sedie bianche un po' vecchio stile, apparecchiato con tovaglie corte (almeno a pranzo) . Frigorifero con pesce a vista. Bello e moderno il muro con tutte le scritte ed i disegni, in contrapposizione con le credenze in stile antico (ma non lo erano). Così come i lampadari erano in contrapposizione con il bancone delle bevande a vista. SERVIZIO : Un po' lento...e non lo dico da "Milanese imbruttito", ma quando siamo entrati non c'era praticamente nessuno e siamo stati serviti dopo altri tavoli, che per carità, magari avevano piatti pronti come degli antipasti. Personale comunque cortese: avevamo deciso di dividere due primi e ci hanno detto che ci avrebbero fatto loro in cucina il bis già diviso CIBO: Buono, non memorabile con impiattamento un po' vecchio stile. Noi abbiamo assaggiato due primi, buono, pesce fresco, anche loro un po' semplici e poco ricchi: le Busiate pistacchio e gambero rosso avevano due gamberi in ogni piatto ed erano ben amalgamati. Gli spaghetti ai ricci di mare avevano il sugo posto sopra la pasta un po' asciutta, non saltato né amalgamato. Il Calamaro gratinato sarà stato anche buono, ma sembrava un po' buttato nel piatto, così come l'insalata. NON Pretendo un ristorante stellato dove c'è cura di ogni dettaglio, ma così il cibo si presentava davvero male, come si evince dalle fotografie. Carta dei vini che poteva essere un po' più assortita RAPPORTO QUALITA' PREZZO : Onestamente non ho fatto la foto al menù e sul sito non sono riportati. In ogni caso prezzi ragionevoli GIUDIZIO COMPLESSIVO : trovandoci in zona per un pranzo veloce il locale andava bene. Sicuramente ha buoni piatti che andrebbero valorizzati meglio.
