If you’re a vegetarian visiting Messina, highly recommend you come here for lunch. As soon as the proprietor knew we were vegetarian, he started suggesting sandwiches he could make — and seemed genuinely excited for the opportunity to come up with a couple of delicious ones. He made us a caprese with pistacchio pesto, and a sandwich with sundried tomato, smoked cheese, and olives. Both were amazing (but the sundried tomato was the definite highlight). We also got an Aperol spritz and a limoncello spritz, both of which were delicious and generously sized. We finished with two delicious caffè espressos.

Sitting outside you get an amazing view of the duomo, and a perfect spot to watch the clock tower in motion — but even if the location were mediocre, the food would be...

Phenomenal experience and relaxation during a busy day in an establishment that makes you feel like a local.

Beautiful location with exceptional views of the astrological clock to sit and relax awhile during your sightseeing. The locals will pass and call "Ciao Giovanni!" inside the door and others stop to pick up food to take home for the evening. Even though this shop is located on a central square, it has the feel of a local establishment.

There isn't a menu. Tell them what you like and if you would like a sandwich or plate and they make it your way. Or simply point to items in the glass case and you will get food. English is spoken very well so no communication issues.

We just had the most incredible lunch at Salumeria Gustosa di Antonino Presti! The owner, Antonino, personally made us delicious panini and drinks with so much care and warmth—he truly made us feel like family. The ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and full of Sicilian soul.

As if that weren’t enough, the view from the shop looks directly onto the Duomo and the end of the astrological clock—absolutely stunning! This spot is a perfect blend of authentic local food, genuine hospitality, and a prime location....
