'A Storia — Restaurant in Milan

We had a delightful meal here, on short notice, on a Saturday night. We went here due to the recommendation of someone we met at another restaurant who said the pizza was the best in the area.

The pizza was superb. But I think the seafood options are where this restaurant really shines. We only had the fantastic Amber Jack tartare, which made me wish we had ordered less pizzas and more seafood.

The pizza here is much closer to what you would get as a Napoleon style pizza in the USA, with a lot of toppings on a brick oven style crust. My personal preference is less fillings, but these were exemplary examples of the style. Of the pizzas we got, the calzone was, by far, the best.

The pasta with meat sauce was the best we've had in Milan.

The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Our finished plates were removed as soon as we were done with them but not before.

The ragu here doesn't taste like cafeteria food and comes with some nice chunks of meet. My female friend (not wife nor girlfriend nor have we had intrc**se), got the Cotoletta which is kinda weird to get at a restaurant imo. It was really big and technically good, but it's a cotoletta why are you paying 28€ for it (I paid for it by the way even though it wasn't a date). The glass of white wine was super delicious. Sono andata la sera di pasquetta,perché il ristorante che avevamo scelto era chiuso. Da anni ci passavo davanti, perché di strada, e mi sono sempre immaginata di fare una cenetta con i fiocchi! Intorno alle 20.10-15 non c'era quasi nessuno e ci hanno concesso un tavolo per due con sedie molto comode, rispetto alle classiche di legno che avevano gli altri tavoli. Locale open space molto ampio e personale molto cortese. Mezz'ora dopo, quasi tutti tavoli in sala erano occupati e questo ci ha fatto ben sperare. Ho preso un primo di pesce, che purtroppo grondava nell'olio e non mi ha molto entusiasmato nel sapore (il gamberone invece era molto buono), mentre il mio ragazzo un filetto di manzo a cottura media, che però è meglio prendere dove sono specializzati con carni alla griglia... Volevo infine concedermi dolce coda di aragosta, siccome dovrebbe essere il pezzo forte di questo ristorante campano.. ma alle 21:00 il cameriere mi comunica che lo hanno già terminato! Allora ritento con una millefoglie con crema e amarene dal modico prezzo di 6€, ma ahimè non c'era assolutamente croccantezza (probabilmente era del giorno precedente) e risultava cosi troppo pesante! Il caffè, a detta del mio ragazzo, era annacquato. Totale speso, poco più di 50€; non penso...
