Amore e Gusto — Restaurant in Milan

Amazing. If you are hanging out in Milan, run into this restaurant. First, we called the restaurant to book a table and we understood it was busy but our host managed to find a solution as we were flexible. We arrived a bit ealier, they proposed us a table outside but my mom was a bit cold... they gifted us with a "waiting" drink outside. What a nice attention. We got our table 30 minutes after. Only italians customers inside which was such a good sign for us. The team of waiters is young, dynamic, professional... and they are the kindest people ever. English menus were already waiting for us on the table, they advised us to share the pizza of the day as a starter and what a good suggestion! Main courses were delicious, so tasty, fresh and so well cooked. Even the desserts were amazing. Not a lot of choices on the dessert which is, from my point of view, a good sign as well because what they do, they do it best. We had a wonderful dinner in a very cool restaurant surrounded by nice people and that's exactly what frenchies like us were looking for! No fancy style! Good food, good vibes and smiles on faces! Came here for dinner. This place has excellent value for money. The dishes were reasonable and the raw starters were very well priced. I could try a lot of things without breaking bank! I was dining alone as well so their menu worked well for solo diners!

I ordered raw prawns, oyster and sea urchin. It’s my first time having sea urchin served like this. It tasted different to what I was expecting (I only had it in Japan previously). I think I prefer the Japanese one but I think this was fresh. Oyster was large but nothing to write home about. However the red prawns were the star of the show. They were so delicious! Only minor point was my second prawn, the prawn head was still a bit frozen. I think it’s how they are kept so I don’t think it’s a problem, especially because I was eating early in the service.

Seafood pasta was great value for money for what you get. I ordered some veg to “balance” my meal. It was well seasoned and lovely.

Service was really lovely and attentive. They answered all my questions!

My meal was 43€ which is pretty good for the quality and quantity of...

From the moment we placed our dinner reservations, to messaging the restaurant via WhatsApp for the dessert arrangement, to the dining experience, every step of the way was perfect. It made our anniversary that much more special.

The restaurant set up is relax and casual, and it has a simple menu (not necessarily a bad thing IMO). Their (sea)food was out of this world and they were super fresh. You can see it for yourself in the fridge right by the entrance.

Very generous portion with a super reasonable price - we ordered the smaller pot (Euro 6.50) of mussels - I even attached a picture to show how many mussel shells there were 🤣 I counted 19 on just my plate. Taste-wise, I think it may be the best mussel pot I’ve ever had. We ordered other dishes and dessert as well but I forgot to take pictures and of course they were all delicious 😅
