We didn’t eat in the restaurant, but ordered Shabbat food & had it delivered.
The food was plentiful & yummy. The challot left much to be desired. The overall package would be better if plastic cutlery were included as people are generally staying in hotels without eating utensils. Also it would be more of a proper Shabbat package if it included the extras like Shabbat candles, and items needed for havdala. We scrambled to obtain these things on Friday afternoon.
Also, communication with the restaurant is abysmal. We didn’t know where to put the delivery point when ordering. I took a chance & emailed them. I never received a acknowledgment. Delivery time & place was never confirmed by the restaurant so we were frantic & concerned about having food for Shabbat. They don’t answer the phone on Friday, the restaurant is shut up tight (we found the out by walking there straight from the Metro to find out about our order). So the anxiety level was quite high when we arrived at our hotel at 5pm on Friday.
We happen to mention to the person at the reception desk that we were expecting a food delivery. He responded that it had arrived & pointed to it. Our relief was immediate, but we were frustrated as to why the restaurant couldn’t be more communicative.
We hope Baghetto Milano reads this & works...
Read moreService was slow, and when we asked for take out after dinner for family member portions were very scarce , less than 75 ml of humos and no pita. Also price is not clear on meats very expensive twice as much as kosher meat restaurant in Rome for example Florentine cut not as clean .and reduce from bone in traditional cut shape. On top of that cost 90 euro for a plate for two. This after getting discount from 140 euro when we refused to pay and pointed at the menu for correction. No vegetables or potato’s this are extra $$ again small potions. We speak fluent SpanIsh and bad Italian so communication was 50% 50% and we were left for over a hour with no service or water after food was served , went in for help with a smile and a person from take out sold us desert and took to the table. This was also low in flavor portion. Small but could not eat it at all. We visited many places in Italy and over the world , this place looks nice has potencial but cost was disproportionate to quality of food , by the way potato’s and eggplant very greasy. Bread was ordinary , Cannot recommend this place at all even if cost was one third as much. We all have a bad day so I understand that , I felt they also lacked empathy to what w happened to us, probably another tourist they will never see again,...
Read moreThe vibe here is excellent. The service was genuinely kind and attentive, and you can tell they really try.
That said, the food didn’t quite live up to the offerings at the chain’s Venice location. The biggest letdown was the fried artichoke. Here, it was a salty, heavy chip a far cry from the amazing full artichoke version we enjoyed in Venice. The pasta also felt overcooked and a bit uninspired. I’ve always wanted to try kosher carbonara, but the version served here didn’t do much to help me understand what makes the non-kosher version so beloved.
Still, it’s a true kosher Italian restaurant in Milan with outstandingly fair prices and that’s something to appreciate. I hope the kitchen finds its stride, because everything else is...
