AVOID BOOKING THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS
Unhelpful, inflexible and unprofessional.
I have been booking hotels both personally and professionally for more than 20 years and I never came across such unhelpful, inflexible and unprofessional place. I made a last minute booking via Booking . com platform for this hotel as we had an important appointment with my partner the next day in Milan. I was flying in to another Italian airport and my flight was scheduled to arrive at 9pm. Due to travelling distance between this airport and the hotel, we were due to arrive around 11pm. My request for this check-in time has been automatically rejected and when I called the hotel to check on this, I was advised, that we have to pay for "late check-in". I never heard about anything like this before, but hoped we can resolve the situation. I emailed the hotel directly, asking for late check in, explaining the situation about my late landing at another airport, the time it will take us to get to the property, etc. I never received a response for this, but between Sunday and Monday afternoon, I spoke to about 3 people, who all said that the cut off time for check in is 8pm. I spoke to someone, who claimed to be the manager on Monday morning, who assured me that he will organise a late check in for us as long as we tell them EXACTLY when we will arrive. I said it depends on the flight, but of course, we will keep them posted. Unfortunately my flight was delayed for 4 hours but while this was happening, my partner tried to agree with them on the check in and let them know, we will be even later (which at normal hotels is never a problem), but they refused to accommodate this, saying it is too late, and they can't do anything for us. My partner was on the phone then with Booking Customer Service team and the hotel even lied to them by saying they always said to us that the latest check in time is 10pm. And because we never received a response to my official email about the late check out time, we could not get back our money. They treated our booking as a "no show". We had to book a new hotel just to be able to attend to our appointment the next day.
Moral of the story: the hotel was not only unhelpful with us, but downright rude in all dealings with them, unable and unwilling to help out even when we already paid for our stay there and they would not refund any of our money. Really don't recommend to have any...
Read moreThis hotel cancelled my reservation at booking.com while I was actually staying at the hotel, in order to avoid a bad review and to avoid having to refund. I would assume this is not the first time. So this is my honest review: This hotel is a bit old fashioned, but still cute. The room is spacious enough, and the bed linnen and room were spotlessly clean. The area is great, walking distance from public transport and restaurants etc. The traffic is a bit noisy but did not bother us at all. The price for the room was good for it’s location. But, halfway through the night, guest in our neighboring room were getting ready to leave, and they took a long shower in the middle of the night. Should be okay, but their bathroom wall was next to our bed and we woke up thinking we were in the middle of a waterfall. I even had earplugs in but this was shockingly loud. The wall was like a soundboard, making it louder. We went downstairs to complain. It was a decent conversation and the guy would talk to his manager. The minute we got back in our room, a notification popped up on my phone saying the reservation got cancelled. We didn’t get much sleep after that. We even heard someone going into the other room after the guest left, probably to keep an eye on us. We had to leave in the morning to catch a flight, and the guy said he would get back to us about a (partial) refund. But even after booking.com customer services messages, they refused to respond or do anything. We were unlucky with the guests next door taking a shower at night, but this should not have been an issue at all. The hotel should have fixed issues like that. Read moreIf you want to sleep, avoid this hotel at ALL COSTS. We stayed there two nights, in the first night we woke up 2-3 times in the middle of the night. This happened because everytime someone in the other room flushes their toilet, the noise is so loud that it wakes you up. My wife even got jumpscares because of how loud this gets.
In the second night, on top of the toilet flushing noises; the guests were super loud up between 01:00-03:00 AM. This is not on the hotel obviously, but no one seems to care that the guests are making this much noise in the middle of the night.
For these two nights we barely got any sleep what so ever.
The experience overall was so bad, that I did not want to go back to sleep in that room.
Be careful that if you come later than 18:00 to check in, you will get charged for checking in late, while the staff there is working usually till late. To me this feel like a scam.
One positive note is that one of the staff that we encountered in the second day there was super friendly but please fix this hotel before listing it...
