During my recent visit to Berberè Pizzeria Navigli in Milan's vibrant Navigli district, I was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The atmosphere was both retro-chic and inviting, featuring high-vaulted ceilings, exposed brick walls, and tasteful lighting that created a warm and welcoming environment. A notable highlight was a mural by artist Percy Bertolini, depicting a child in a 1920s bathing suit, which added a nostalgic touch to the setting. The staff at Berberè were exceptional—informative, attentive, and eager to guide us through the menu. Their passion for the food was evident, and they provided insightful recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. We primarily ordered pizzas, which were outstanding. Berberè is renowned for its artisanal approach, using living sourdough and fresh, organic ingredients. The result was a pizza with a soft interior and a perfectly crunchy crust, served pre-cut into eight slices to encourage sharing and social interaction. The variety of toppings showcased high-quality ingredients, and each pizza was bursting with flavor. In addition to the delicious food and inviting atmosphere, the service was prompt and friendly. The staff's knowledge of the menu and their willingness to accommodate our preferences made the meal even more enjoyable.Overall, Berberè Pizzeria Navigli offers a delightful dining experience with its combination of delectable pizzas, charming ambiance, and exceptional service. It's a must-visit spot for anyone in Milan seeking a memorable meal in the...
Read moreI rated this place negatively because when we arrived we were first ignored by all staff for about 10 minutes and when asked for a table they told us that they don’t have any available (despite there being multiple empty tables without reservation signs on them). So apparently it was okay after all to sit at one of them. We ordered our pizzas and drinks but we never got to have a meal there because the waiter came over to tell us the Eftpos machine was broken and we’d have to pay cash. When we asked how much it was, to check if we had enough money on us, the waiter looked at us confused and said we could pay later. Well yes. But not if we don’t have enough money. Turns out we didn’t, so we left. Despite the waiter apologising I feel we were treated very rudely and the food would have been very expensive for what they offer. The pizzas on the tables around us had very thick crusts with only a few toppings and they say on their menu that they don’t stretch their pizza dough. They restaurant’s interior looks more like a fast food joint and the pizzas look accordingly as well. Would not...
Read moreThis place was recommended by a friend who has lived all over Italy and says this is the best place to get pizza in Milan. It certainly did not dissapoint !! The crust was crunchy on the outside. It was honestly perfect in my opinion.
We ordered the below: Speck of Trentino, natural gorgonzola, Acacia honey, walnuts and fiordilatte 12.00 I do not usually like gorgonzola as it's too strong for my taste buds, but this was absolutely delicious !!! the saltiness of the speck was complimented beautifully by the sweetness of the honey ... and the walnuts added to nice crunch!
Burrata, cooked ham of Mora Romagnola Zivieri, confit tomatoes, fiordilatte, oregano, basil 12,80 --- the confit tomatoes were my favorite part of this pizza. They were sweet and juicy and complimented.
I also love how the pizza's as a precut.
They are very friendly towards English speakers as well. I am excited to go back to try their other pizzas!
Definitely recommend making a...
