Lady in the Reception and Lady Sommelier Are Both Rude! I am unsure if the owner of this place is aware of his/her employees behaviour and the owner needed to address it and provide a proper training to them. Otherwise, it affects their business - because of his/her employees maltreatment to customers despite being paid well to do their job accordingly.. hope so (seem its a reflection how they do their job unhappily)
We came from St. Moritz an hour before our dinner and clearly informed the Sommelier that we already had drunk enough for the day and a light non-pricey wine is fine for us along with the Fiorentina. It must be her sales commission that she was pushing for us to buy the €500-700 euros wine .. We dont mind paying if at least the people who receive and offer you their drinks are respectful rather than pushing only the expensive product so they can get their commission.
The Customer Service needs to improve - A LOT! There were 4 of us, we dont mind paying the high prices so long that the service is excellent too. We lived in Singapore, London and New York, its common for us BUT we did not expect the RUDENESS of the lady host/reception/who received us the lady plus the lady Sommelier.
I arrived first but she never even greeted or welcomed, she was frowning, I speak Italian. Since we double booked the table I asked for us to be seated in the table where they prepared 3 seats, I asked nicely yet she questioned me in a rude way for 4 times why and she insisted that already prepared. Technically I avoided that table as its next to the bar and will be noisy for glasses and other utensils. She then asked a Waiter to add 1 more seat - unhappily. Never even said, ok here as you wish to make you feel comfortable. She gave me instead a sharp look. Really unbelievable!
The 2nd one was the lady Sommelier, she kept on insisting that I get the €180-€500 wine but I chose the €45 yet she came back and said its not available so I chose the €55 one and she was unhappy. When we were about to order the 2nd bottle of wine, we asked my English friend to choose, yet the lady Sommelier was pushing to him the €500-€700 worth of wine. I stand up and was supposed to help him as the place was too noisy and he can barely understand Italian accent who speaks English. But she got too angry that she even SCREAMED AT ME, REALLY SCREAMED AT ME with big eyes and Angry Face (imagine that kind of service you will get in this supposed "high end restaurant?") that my friends got scared and she told me to SIT DOWN and let her explain to my friend. I told her that I am the one paying for the bill so atleast hope she can listen to the customer and not what she pushed (due to her sales commissions).
I was grateful the gentlemen waiters because they were so nice and respectful to us at least as Customers of the restaurant. I even told one of them.
Hope this will bring Attention to the Manager or the Owner. Feel free to contact me if you want a detailed report as I am even planning to find an appropriate F&B Association in Milan or Italy to file this complaint.
