a quick smile on our arrival followed by an ushering to the table closest to the toilet despite the place being otherwise empty. needless to say there was a near-constant flurry of activity past our table that left us more or less unable to focus on anything else other than the possibility of various nefarious particles landing in our food.
a good selection of beers but the spicy margarita lacked both volume and flavour. not at all worth the substantial fee for either the size or the quality of the drink.
the ambience left a lot to be desired. instead of the expected and anticipated Mexican-themed music (some of the most relaxing and beautiful music in the world) we were instead assaulted by various top 40 club bangers at an altogether uncomfortable volume.
no air conditioning which, when you combine Milan's summer dampness and the spicy food, left us gasping for air.
the service was indifferent bordering on unfriendly. we were only asked if we enjoyed the food as we were leaving.
you order your food via a QR code specific to your table to ensure the staff do not have to spend too much time with the sweating clientele. I will say that the food does arrive very quickly following this order, though.
indeed the restaurant's saving grace is, in fact, the food, although I did not appreciate being charged 2 euros for a small pot of habanero sauce. all items were of very high quality, excellent flavours and textures, with a not-quite-authentic Mexican taste but one that far surpasses other Milan Mexican restaurants (looking at you, Calaveras, endless shame be upon you).
If we were ever going to return it would ideally be when the weather is a little less oppressive. the food is good, but the poor service, atmosphere and value just is not worth the effort or...
Read moreThe beef tacos were great. The chicken ones were okay, the chicken had a slightly strange aftertaste. The ambience itself was quite good. We are tourists and found this taco store online. As we really like tacos, we decided to wait until the evening and then go out for tacos. Opening hours are 18:30 and we were there 2-3 minutes later because we really wanted to go there and waited for it the entire day, it was our first time in Milan. We came in and the waiters were annoyed that we were already there. I understand that as a worker you are sometimes annoyed that customers come in right at opening time. But if you're a store that doesn't open until 6:30pm, then it's totally understandable that customers want to enter the store right then. The store was completely empty and we were asked to sit in the back room where the toilet was and where it also smelled of toilets (although everything was free?) We asked to sit somewhere else because of the smell and were told "it's all reserved". 2 minutes later two other customers came in who also had no reservation and they were seated in the front room. That really annoyed us and made us feel uncomfortable. He then suddenly said we could move and sit in the front. It was clear that there was no motivation and that he was not in the mood. Having no mood is okay but making some customers feel less invited than other customers is not ok. If I hadn't been so hungry, I wouldn't have...
Read moreThis place had a very fun atmosphere with Mexican inspired decorations and the restaurant was a decent size. We were sat down and attended to immediately. We ordered a Corona beer, margarita diablita, tacos al pastor, tacos camarones, and tacos asados, The margaritas were very tasty and they had many options for other cocktails and beers. The tacos were tasty but I would say they do remind me of more texmex flavors rather than more traditional. Despite this, the tacos were very delicious; everything tasted fresh and seasoned well. The prices are a little expensive but fair considering the location and the fact that the Mexican cuisine isn’t super present in Italy. Overall, a good experience and I...
