We went there this morning because of the great reviews and left utterly disappointed. First of all, the lady behind the counter was really loud and pushy. As soon as we stepped inside, she started reciting the coffee menu, but without telling us the prices. She then continued hurrying us through the process of ordering, even though it wasnât too crowded. We ordered a veggie panini and another one with chicken, as well as an Americano and a Shakerato. The lady then offered us a Sicilian cannoli and while we simply and firmly should have said no, we were so perplexed by her rushing us that we simply agreed. We ended up paying 40âŹ, which is insane. Outside, we had just taken a seat when we were asked to sit somewhere else so a bigger party cold be seated on two tables next to each other. While this isnât a problem at all, we disliked them sitting right next to the entrance: the music and the lady who served people were so loud that we couldnât even have a conversation. Our food came on paper plates and wrapped in napkins. The veggie panini was so greasy that the napkin stuck to it and the bread got soggy as well. It didnât taste particularly fresh or flavourful and the chicken panini wasnât anything to write home about either. The shell of the cannoli was nice and crispy, but the ricotta cream was way too sweet for us. Americano and Shakerato were okayish, but nothing more.
TLDR: It was expensive and really not worth it. We had way better food...
Read moreThe loveliest place for breakfast and lunch in Milanoâ¤ď¸Exceptional food and service, sweetest people, including the manager Bettie (hope I got the name right) and every person who works at this wonderful place. We just stopped for some snacks and pastries, but then I saw the traditional Milanese cake for Christmas! YES, I am talking about panettone, and PISTACHIO PANETTONE IS MUST TRYđ First, I tried a slice - and it turned out to be the BEST panettone Iâve ever had. Then I just came back to Debbieâs this morning, right before my flight - specifically to get the entire PISTACHIO PANETTONE for my husband!!! The price for an entire cake is 39âŹ, and it is an average price in Milano. But at Debbieâs they outdid themselves and thoughtfully designed every little detail, your cake will be wrapped in a nice little packaging with a beautiful shopper! Oh, and extra pistachio cream Bettie provided just made it soooo special! So, to wrap it up, 39 euros is totally worth it, youâll get a great quality, taste and serviceđ¤ I definitely recommend everyone to try panettones at Debbieâs. Will be back next time for another panettone and try everything elseđđđ Thank you Debbieâs, you are truly...
Read moreOk fast casual breakfast spot in Brera. Visited 2 days in a row since it was nearby. During my first visit there was some kind of open argument going on between an employee and the manager. This verbal sparring match went back and forth for a while (welcome to Italy!). Entertaining for me, but I imagine it would be annoying to most. Especially in the upmarket area that is Brera. PSA like a lot of places in Europe. They treat you nice if you look white. Expect cold and abrupt service if you arenât. It was very clear from the outset the cashier/clerk didnât want me there. As a matter of fact she guided me to an inside table. So passersby wouldnât see me out on the patio?! But silly me I went there again the next day specifically to piss them off! And you know I sat out on that patio!!! 3 stars from me, only because I did enjoy the...
