Decent food, but disappointing service — room for improvement

My wife and I had lunch here on our first day in Milan. Overall, the experience was okay, but there were a few things that left us underwhelmed.

We each ordered a personal pizza and asked the waiter how big they were, just to make sure it would be enough. He told us that one pizza definitely wasn’t enough for two people — but when they arrived, they were actually quite large, more than enough to share. It felt like the waiter was more interested in upselling than giving us honest advice, which left a bit of a bad impression from the start.

My wife had the Margherita pizza, which she rated 3 out of 5. It was just average — nothing memorable. I ordered a different pizza, which was a bit better, maybe a 4 out of 5, but still not something I'd go out of my way to recommend. I also ordered a bottled lemonade (3/5), and my wife asked for a Fanta — they brought her a pineapple-flavored one without asking which flavor she wanted. It wasn’t what she expected, and it would’ve been nice to be asked first.

On the positive side, the location is very convenient if you're exploring Milan — it’s a nice spot to stop for a quick bite. The atmosphere around the restaurant is lively and enjoyable, with a good vibe overall. Prices were fair, which we appreciated.

That said, the service could definitely be improved — especially in terms of honesty and communication. And while the food wasn’t bad, it also wasn’t particularly special. With a bit more attention to flavor and customer care, this place could be...

We visited the restaurant with high expectations for the food, and in that regard, we were not disappointed. The dishes were good. Unfortunately, the service significantly tarnished our overall experience!

The staff was noticeably unfriendly, casting a negative shadow over the entire impression. The music was abruptly turned off during our meal, and while the removal of the terrace was understandable, the chairs placed next to us disrupted our enjoyment.

The bill was presented before we had finished our meal. The waitress, already wearing a winter jacket cleared our table. Another downside was the impolite request to leave the restaurant at 23.20, although it was supposed to be open until midnight.

Overall, the experience was catastrophic as the friendly atmosphere one expects from a restaurant was noticeably absent. Unfortunately, the good food couldn't compensate for the negative aspects of the service...

We were a group of 8 people. We each ordered a different dish. Pizza and salad were relatively edible. But the other dishes were not good at all and the price was not adequate. We definitely do not recommend the lasagna. Very bad, poor and very small portion. The restaurant should think. This was a disgrace to the restaurant. Meatballs in tomato sauce were edible, but a very small portion - with side dish 22 euros - inadequate price. One looks forward to tasting traditional Italian food, for those prices one also expected quality - bad advertising for Milan... The staff deserves a lot of praise. The kitchen...

We were in the restaurant in the winter of 2023 in a company of four. What I can personally say about the restaurant is that it is nice and cozy, I would say inviting and friendly looking. In the restaurant there's truly beautiful music playing! From the restaurant's menu we tried pizza which was actually good (we tried vegetarian ones), hot chocolate and tee are worth tasting. The only unpleasant thing for me was unfriendly treatment from the service staff on that day. Also if you do not speak Italian, you should count that not everyone from the restaurant's team can speak English.

The service and ambiance was very good. Some of the food could have been better. The spaghetti carbonara was yum though. The salad could have some dressing. I had to add olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. The Burrata cheese was not as yummy as it was elsewhere. So it was quite bland. My kids loved the Grandma's meatball dish. The ham and cheese croquet was nice. The toilets were clean and the place was clean too.
