Donati — Restaurant in Milan

Stumbled across this restraunt for a rushed business drink. Ended being one of the best meals we had during a six week trip in North and South Italy. After sampling the fresh octopus salad, beef carpacio and tuna tartare we were drawn into the mains. I had the beef costata (t-bone?) which was so tender it could be cut with a fork.

Due to recent rain porcini mushrooms were in season which complimented the experience.

Seems to be a local favourite as by dusk the place was full and vibrant, while other restaurants were empty. Out door dining was immaculate. Service was exceptional and prices...

Antipasti Misti. Assortment of meats, including prosciutto. Meats were excellent. Ossobuco can risotto Milanese was awesome. Melt in your mouth tender. The rice, the main reason for ordering, was simply devine. First risotto Milanese in over 40 years. Totally worth it. Service was fast...

Hanno sia la parte interna che un berson esterno scaldato con i "funghi" che scaldano i locali. Si sta bene anche nel berson ma state lontani dagli spifferi della porta che si apre spesso ogni volta che il camerieri va e vieni per portare le pietanze. Ho provato un piatto di primo, tagliolini con granchio fresco e non erano eccezionali ma cmq molto buoni. La cosa spettacolare è stata la tagliata! Ne hanno di vari tipi e sono veramente buone, cotte al punto giusto e delicate,provatele! Mi dicono che anche le pizze sono buone. Il vino sfuso della casa era buonissimo ( di solito non è il massimo invece qui meritava). Inoltre molto gentili e cordiali e il proprietario verrà spesso a chiedervi se va tutto bene....
