This recently opened restaurant is perhaps the only place in Milan where one can truly enjoy a traditional rakı experience. While the overall concept is promising, the venue still shows signs of being in its early stages, with a few important areas needing improvement.
To start, the selection of meze is quite limited. The cheese served is not the typical Ezine-style white cheese, but rather a soft, mild one. This does not pair well with rakı, as a firmer and saltier cheese is traditionally preferred. Among the hot starters, the liver was well-cooked and flavorful. However, the shrimps were very small in size and did not offer much in terms of taste.
A notable downside was the lack of fish options on the menu. We were told that they only bring in four or five fish in total for the weekend service. For a seafood-focused restaurant, not having fish available is quite surprising and disappointing.
On the positive side, şalgam was available, which is a nice and rare addition for those familiar with Turkish dining culture. Rakı is slightly overpriced, and in general, the dishes lean toward the expensive side considering the portion sizes and variety.
The service, on the other hand, was friendly and attentive. Our waiter provided a warm and helpful experience, which balanced some of the shortcomings in the food offering.
In conclusion, this place may appeal to those in Milan looking for an authentic rakı table. With time and better ingredient planning especially regarding fresh fish it has the potential to become a notable destination. For now, it’s a decent option worth trying, especially for the cultural...
