illy Caffè — Restaurant in Milan

Fan of this brand, the shop is located in a very nice area in the city!

Unfortunately, do not recommend it for tourists: 2 out of 2 visits in different days this week were deeply unpleasant by staff serving the tables,

First visit on Tue with staff approaching me in a very abrupt and rude way to message that I needed to order when taking a table as I needed to pay for the "service" when I have already been asked at the till and have paid for it!!

Following this, the next day, sat on the table and the waiter totally ignored me while taking orders from local people, had to order at the till, and then he did exactly the same when asking for the bill, had to pay directly at the till!!

Staff on the till very nice and helpful, I did share with them how the experience was TOTALLY RUINED in 2 consecutive days even when going there on a rainy day,

I totally regret visiting this shop - not recommended at all!!!...

Punto di forza: Ci stacchiamo dal connubbio caffè = Napoli ed in un forte accento Milanese, dei barman che riescono a farti fare un viaggio tra i sapori ed aromi di una semplice tazzina di caffè.

Punto debole: E' stato difficile trovarne.

RECENZIONE COMPLETA: Location (5/5): Molto ben curate in tutti i dettagli, con scenofragie sui muri ed esposizione di tutte le tazzine della collezione Lilly. Assolutamente, per chi ama il genere, e' un mondo, un brend ed uno stile da scoprire di anno in anno.

Presentazione dei piatti (5/5): Le tazzine raccontano la loro storia. Ogni anno cambiano e continuando a sorprendere nel loro gusto unico. Un ingresso con la rappresentazione di tutte le storie delle tazzine ed un marchio raffigurato e riportato ovunque t'immergono nell'atmosfera "casa del caffè"

Qualità dei prodotti (5/5): Il caffè non e' facile da preparare come si crede. A volte troppo bruciato. A volte volte troppo lungo. Quando sono stato io, Fabio (il cameriere che mi ha servito e che raccomando a tutti voi), accanto alla tazzina non ha messo il solito cioccolattino. Ma ha messo una storia, un viaggio tra sapori. Mi ha lasciato provare ben 3 miscele (Classica, Etiopia, Indiana). Tutte e tre erano impeccabili. Non bruciate, non acquetta, cremoso al punto giusto, senza residuri e che riuscivano ad esprimere tutte le note e retrogusti di un caffè non più banale.Un momento di relax, di viaggi tra natura ed aromi. Cioccolata, gelsomino, spezie. Tutte ben scandite e apprezzabili al palato. Merito di un team di camerieri appassionato e pronto a trasmettere tutta la loro passione? Chissà... Ma una cosa e' certa, il vecchio caffè bruciato è solo un ricordo lontano finalmente!

Accoglienza (4/5): Siamo a porta Garibaldi. La gente non viene per gustare un buon caffè ma solo perchè il caffè dona energia e rapidità. Anche i cassieri lo sono. Tutto di corso, rapido ed efficace (come si dice a Milano).

Servizio (4/5): Personale disponibile. Il bar e' stato immediatamente disponibile a farmi riscoprire cosa voglia dire caffè e pausa caffè.

Prezzo (4/5): Porta Garibaldi, storia e degustazione, 1 euro e 10 a tazzina. Meritatissimo.

Conclusione: Una location ben curata, dei barman appassionati capaci di trasmettere tutta la cultura del caffè e la storia del brand. Una pausa caffè che e' tornata ad essere una...

If you’re foreign and unaccustomed to the ordering process here, make sure you keep your receipt. I tossed mine because I thought you just wait for your order to come up. After waiting awhile I realized you are supposed to just find someone working behind the counter down from the cash register and give them your receipt so they will make your order. I asked one employee about being able to get my order, and he said you have to have the receipt. He asked the lady who rang me up about my order, and the only thing she would do was say “I already gave her the receipt.” She wouldn’t print another one out for me, even though she new I never got my coffee. I literally had to start fussing because they were trying to make me pay again. They finally gave me my order to get me to go away. Lame...
