Eataly is overrated place for rich visitors. On the ground floor is highly priced market, on the 1st floor is pizzeria, on the 2nd is restaurant. My wife likes Fetucini, so she asked for it according to Menu, but waiter said they don't serve that kind of Fetucini, and proposed different (with mushrooms) and with higher price - she agreed. I ordered Lasagna. The cooks are really fast there so shortly we received our order. The Fetucini was the most ordinary thing I ever tried, but my Lasagna was delicious. The portions were small so we ordered a Pizza to stop hunger. Pizza was very tasty. The thing are organized not as a normal restaurant there, we waiters are constantly switching, I think it's not comfortable - I didn't know whom to call for something? The prices are double from normal in Milano, but this place is not fashionable nor historic. The WiFi was out of service. Personal was friendly but not professional - I needed to remind them to bring some cheese for Fetucini first, then to bring oil for Pizza...

Location to memorize for lovers of good drink and good food. A temple where you can find excellent quality products, both food and drinks, but also stop for an aperitif in the outdoor area, or a meal at one of the restaurants inside. We had an aperitif with a discreet rosé wine, accompanied by a cutting board with Culatello di Zibello "Antica Ardenga", Mortadella "Bonfatti" (Slowfood Presidium) and wholemeal taralli, accompanied by two croutons of Stracciatella "Miracolo a Milano" and anchovies Sicily "Scalia" on "Rustic" bread. All perfect! Then we threw ourselves inside for an unbridled shopping of wines, spirits and to try some niche Italian delicacies. If you do not know this location, know that it is a "MUST SEE" both for what it offers, but also for improving the culture of good living.

Ideal spot for a quick business lunch or a quick yet tasty and healthy dinner be it seafood, meat or vegetarian. Food is tasty and fresh, the staff are friendly and helpful, service is fast. Since the restaurants on the 3rd floor have food court set-up the noise level is above normal; due to open kitchen there is smell of frying fish and meat, so I would recommend taking a table far from bar and oven. Apart from that Eataly in Milan is definitely a spot to visit not only for meal experience, but also for a (shopping) tour in their supermarket: I believe nicely packaged Italian olive oil, desserts, sun-dried tomatoes are more authentic souvenirs than magnets. P.S. In my opinion Eataly in Dubai is overpriced, Eataly in Istanbul was a nice experience, but too crowdy and again pricey.

Eataly Milano Smeraldo is a true culinary paradise for lovers of Italian cuisine, combining a gourmet supermarket concept with restaurants and a vibrant atmosphere. Located in a historic building, the former Smeraldo theater, Eataly brings Italy's gastronomic traditions to life in a modern and accessible way.

Atmosphere and design: The space is vast, spread over several floors, each dedicated to a specific type of product: from pasta and cheeses to wines, desserts, and fresh produce. The interior design blends modern with traditional, featuring shelves filled with artisanal Italian products and cozy dining areas. A remarkable detail is the preserved stage of the former theater, which has been integrated into the space, paying homage to the history of the location.

Culinary experience: The in-house restaurants specialize in different types of Italian food – pizza, pasta, meat, fish, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pizzeria is a highlight, offering Neapolitan-style pizza with a perfect crust and authentic toppings. The selection of pasta, whether freshly made on-site or available for purchase, is impressive. You can create your own menu by exploring the different sections or choose to dine at one of the specialty restaurants.

Product selection: Eataly Milano Smeraldo is also perfect for those looking to stock up on high-quality products for home. You'll find everything Italian gastronomy has to offer at its finest: award-winning olive oils, artisanal pasta, local cheeses, top wines, and fresh produce. The Italian desserts, from tiramisu to gelato, are also not to be missed.

Prices: Prices may seem higher than at regular supermarkets, but the quality of the products justifies the difference. Many of them come from small local producers, making them all the more authentic and special. At the in-house restaurants, the quality-price ratio is fair, considering the freshness of the ingredients and the well-executed dishes.

Service: The staff is friendly and well-trained, ready to offer recommendations or help you choose from the wide variety of products. In the restaurants, service is fast, even during peak hours, and the atmosphere remains relaxed, though the place can get crowded, especially on weekends.

Conclusion: Eataly Milano Smeraldo is much more than just a shopping spot – it's a complete culinary experience, perfect for Italian food enthusiasts. Whether you want to dine in, shop for gourmet products, or just stroll and admire the food, Eataly offers a sensory delight and an authentic taste of Italy.

Strengths:

High-quality Italian products.

Fresh, authentic food at the in-house restaurants.

An impressive range of wines and delicacies.

Weaknesses:

Prices can be higher than average.

Can get crowded during peak hours.

Verdict: If you're in Milan and love Italian food, Eataly Milano Smeraldo is a place...

Looking for a laugh? Well, buckle up for a rollercoaster of an experience at “Eata-Lousy” in Milan. From the moment you step foot in this culinary catastrophe, you’ll be greeted with a warmth akin to that of a freezer in Antarctica. The waiters, if you can call them that, seem to have mistaken hospitality for hostility. It’s as if they attended a seminar on how to ruin someone’s day.

The food? Let’s just say it’s like they raided a dumpster behind a mediocre Italian joint and decided to serve up whatever they found. I’m pretty sure the chef’s only culinary skill is pressing the “microwave” button. And don’t even get me started on the presentation – it’s like a Jackson Pollock painting, but instead of art, it’s a plate of disappointment.

But wait, there’s more! If you’re lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the kitchen, you’ll witness a chaotic ballet of incompetence. It’s as if the staff has never seen a spatula before, let alone know how to use one.

In conclusion, if you’re in Milan and considering dining at Eataly, do yourself a favor and run in the opposite direction. Milan is a city bursting with culinary delights and charming eateries, and wasting your time at this sorry excuse for a restaurant would be a crime against your taste buds. Go forth and explore the real flavors of Italy, my friends, and leave Eata-Lousy to...

Words cannot even begin to express the experience I had.

I walked in as a tiny, dumb, American, looking for help sourcing meat, cheese, and Italian goods for a 100 person event. Diego went ABOVE. AND. BEYOND. He literally toured me around the entire store, answering all of my questions and getting me the best of the best. Olive oils, vinegars, butters, wine - was open and honest about why things were better than others.

Shoutout to the young man in the produce section who Diego told I wanted a case of cherry tomatoes and he literally went to the back to get the best of the best. Did not catch his name but rock star. He also sent me along with some other local produce we cannot wait to try.

We went to Lorenzo at the meat and cheese counter and let me tell you, this man did not disappoint. I asked him to give me an assortment of all things Italian and he DELIVERED. Packed up incredibly (since he knew I was transporting it) and 10 cuts of meat and 10 cuts of cheese done in no time.

Also tried tipping both of these humans and both refused, something that would never happen in America. Cannot speak more highly of how incredible my experience was!!! Eataly, give these men raises immediately because they’re amazing and went above and beyond for a...
