Osteria dei Vecchi Sapori — Restaurant in Milan

Walking in to the restaurant, we were kindly greeted and shown to our table, brought bread and olive oil but no plates. We were asked to move as there was a large group they were trying to fit…no problem. They moved us to the corner and promptly forgot about us. We asked for balsamic vinegar at the beginning of the meal and then watched our server go on their phone at the front of the restaurant. 30 minutes later I had to get up to ask for it…..again. Normally when you are served your food, the server asks a few minutes later how the meal is and if there is anything else you need….again, forgot about us in the corner. Would not order the risotto a la milanese…tasteless. The tortelle di pere was good but the portion size left you feeling completely unsatisfied for the price. To top it off, as we were paying, we were verbally asked if we wanted to tip even though there was already a 10% service...

Premetto che il locale è stato scelto da amici e che non l'avrei mai preso in considerazione per una cena date le tante opzioni in zona. Ho trovato la location piuttosto triste e senza personalità, un misto di idee e stili tra rustico e moderno che non danno nessuna identità al posto. Per quanto riguarda le norme anti COVID19 non ho avuto l'impressione del rigore: considerando che ci si trova al chiuso i tavoli nella sala grande parevano troppo vicini, mentre sulle panche si era letteralmente schiena schiena con il tavolo dei vicini. La cosa più gravi a mio avviso sono i menù: stampati ancora su carta e dati di mano in mano dai camerieri a tutti i clienti... Inoltre i condimenti (olio,il sale e pepe) sono passati di tavolo in tavolo e non mi è sembrato vederli sanificare. Infine i bagni non sono lo specchio della pulizia e durante la serata appariva che nessuno fosse passato a pulire/sanificare nulla. Per quanto riguarda la cucina non ho mangiato o visto nulla oltre il mero sufficiente. L'antipasto di porcini con Parmigiano era composto dal porcini tagliati sottili come ostie e da Parmigiano inesistente salvo 2 micro pezzetti trovati per caso. Avevo anche pensato si fossero dimenticato di metterle.) L'impiattamento bruttissimo, il piatto è arrivato completamente scondito... La tartare di Fassona non è stata niente di entusiasmante servita meramente in un piatto con pochissimi porcini sopra sempre tagliati ad ostia. Nessun sapore a dargli qualche carattere visto che era completamente scondita ed avevi a tua disposizione solo sale olio e pepe. Non so se dovuto al cibo, ma poco dopo cena sono stata male con lo stomaco ed ho avuti grossi problemi di digestione. Per quanto riguarda il conto non posso dire nulla in quanto non ho pagato io ma i prezzi che ho visto (rispetto alla qualità dei piatti) mi sembravano piuttosto alti anche considerato il quartiere. Sinceramente non lo consiglierei e di sicuro...

Very nice place with incredible drinks and cocktails. You can choose among a dozen cocktails each one with its unique ingredients and taste. You will surely need the bartender (and owner I guess) to come and explain you the ingredients and the incredible ways they prepare the cocktails, thing that he will surely not miss to do with extreme passion, knowledge and charisma.
