This place opened recently and it’s already very popular — and for good reason! Often, popular spots lose quality over time or don’t live up to the hype, but Speciale Osteria truly stands out.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with big smiles and a warm welcome. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, and a bit romantic — the kind of place you’d love to visit with friends, family, or a partner, whether you’re celebrating something special or just enjoying a nice evening out.

The menu is quite extensive, featuring traditional dishes from Milan and across Italy. Prices are very reasonable considering the area. We tried several dishes — some recommended by the staff and others we personally love — and everything was excellent.

Service was attentive, friendly, and always accompanied by genuine smiles. Despite the restaurant being full, the dishes arrived quickly and looked just as beautiful as in their photos online.

The food was fantastic — top-quality ingredients, generous but balanced portions, and truly authentic flavors. We left perfectly satisfied without feeling overly full.

I highly recommend the Vitello Tonnato, Risotto alla Milanese with Ossobuco, and their Tiramisù — all absolutely delicious!

You can tell the owners and team have put a lot of heart into this place. Speciale Osteria really is special, and I can’t wait to return the next time...

Highly recommend this newly opened gem, which has quickly become my go-to neighbourhood restaurant for business lunches and dinners with family & friends alike.

The food is excellent. Rooted in the Osteria tradition, occasionally with a modern twist, the menu offers classics like "La tagliatella come una volta" or an exceptional "Vitello tonnato" but also plenty of vegeterian options.

In fashionable Isola great food alone is not enough to stand out though, and Speciale Osteria equally delivers on all other counts:

Service is professional but welcoming and warm. It really feels more like dining with friends than going to a restaurant.

Furthermore, toughtful design touches connect & elevate the whole experience, from cushioned outdoor seats to white table cloths and branded napkins as well as china and even candle holders, you feel at home from the moment you walk through the door.

Last but not least, a state-of-the-art HVAC system means this is one of the few places where you can dine next to an open kitchen and leave without smelling like food for days.

My compliments to the entire Speciale team!...

As a foreigner, I felt instantly at home the moment I stepped into Special Osteria in Milan. The room itself is utterly charming—warm, inviting, and filled with the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger long after the plates are cleared. The food was nothing short of amazing, a true taste of Milanese tradition. The saffron risotto was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced; the breaded steak crisp on the outside and tender within; and the tiramisù a dream to finish on—light, decadent, and impossible not to smile over. Each dish was elevated by a glass of red wine that the staff paired beautifully with the meal, rounding out the evening in the most satisfying way. This restaurant doesn’t just serve food—it offers an experience of Milan that feels both authentic and unforgettable. I would return in...

I had a wonderful dining experience at Speciale. The food is prepared with so much attention to detail and high-quality ingredients. Each dish was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced in flavor. The beef tartare with figs, burrata, and arugula was a real highlight – fresh, delicate, and creative. The grilled beef topped with arugula and Parmesan was rich and flavorful, while the homemade pasta was perfectly cooked with a creamy sauce that melted in the mouth. I also loved the hummus with eggplant topping, which added a Mediterranean touch to the menu. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, and the service is professional and friendly. Definitely a place I would recommend for anyone who wants to experience refined Italian cuisine with a modern twist.
