#DISASTER #LOOT #IGNORANT

Absolute BANG for your wallet: (scroll down for my response to IGNORANT, SELF-CENTRIC and NARCISSIST owner)

We were 3 Indian people visiting various cities of Italy, from Germany. When we reached Milan, we decided to give it a try to Indian food. We've visited many Indian restaurants in Europe, and this one is bad in many aspects:

Service: The waiters were attentive before taking order, and then they were ignorant. Food: We ordered a plate of Veg samosa, Chicken Pakora, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Madras Curry, Rogan Josh and 6 Garlic Naan and soft drinks. And the waiter explicitly asked if we need Onions. As an Indian, I said YES (BANG). Quality: Only starters, CTM and Naan were decent. Rogan Josh was a night mare. Chicken madras curry was more like Chicken Mustard Curry. I've lived and worked in Chennai (Madras), never had or heard of such use of mustard in meat curries. Quantity: Starters quantity was decent. Curries quantity was very small. Naan was small, but was cut into several pieces to make it look big. There is no complementary rice for curries like Indian restaurants in other European countries. No GO. Price: above order costed us 96 Euros. For this pathetic service, we paid 3+3+3 = 9 Euros seating charges.

Absolute DISASTER and BANG for your wallet.

Update - 11.04.2023:

"Response from the owner an hour ago Thank you FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS Mr. REDDY. I WOUKD KINDLY DISAGREE WITH YOU COMMENTS, SINCE WE DID TRY OUR BEST TO SERVE YOU IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE, LET IT BE IN REMAKING THE ALOO PARATHAS AGAIN THE WAY YOU ASKED THEM TO BE. ALL OUR CHARGES ARE METIONED ON THE MENU ITSELF IN BOLD. IM SORRY IF YOU WERE EXPECTING A DIFFERENT KIND OF SERVICE, WEVE CHARGED YOU FOR THE ONLY THINGS THAT YOU HAVE EATEN. I THINK THE ISSUE YOU HAD WAS NOT WITH THE FOOD BUT WITH THE PRICING. NEXT I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU TO CHECK THE MENU AND PRICES OF THE RESTAURANTS AND THEN ORDER BEST WISHES. THANK YOU."

Clearly ignorant response. Your response didn't surprise me, after the experience at your restaurant. How did you remake Aloo Paratha's for me, when I didn't order them? If you didn't remember what I ordered, at least read my review completely. Did I mention Aloo Paratha in my review? Well, thanks for your generous advice about me checking menu prices for future restaurant visits. I'll also avoid restaurants with ignorant owners who have hidden prices in their menu (sorry didn't bring my microscope to check hidden prices at your...

Terrible experience. The lady at the counter is just extremely rude and unprofessional. Her way of talking is just absurd. If you don’t have a green pass please don’t even bother going to this place. Even if you have a negative report or a triple vaccination she’ll point you again and again about green pass and make you sit in a separate corner. Kept roaming around our table nitpicking stuff like don’t put it here and don’t do this and that like she is headmistress or something . You can’t ask her much of details about the food she just gets irritated on asking questions. Doesn’t greet, talk or even smile properly. And if you try to tell her that behaviour is not right she’ll just insult you and mock you like a teenager. She very rudely reacted when a family and our group complained. Treats customers as if they are nothing and she is doing them a favour by providing them with food. She is just degrading the whole restaurant. The food is nice but just because of her behaviour it is just not worth it. It is very bothering and upsetting. It felt like a sheer waste of time and money by going...

The two stars are for the ambience. Which is quite nice. And possibly the only thing good about the restaurant.

The food is horrible. The paneer makhni tastes so sweet that it might put desserts to shame. The meat used in making the curries and the tandoor items was old/stale due to which it was chewy and tasteless. The chicken tikka masala was sweet. The tandoori rotis were so crunchy that one could shave his beard with it. And to top it all, the portion size compared to money charged was so small that one portion won't serve two people. It is like paying Swiss prices for sub-standard food. It is simply a case of swindling the customers.

The cashier used a machine that timed out 4 cards (Master, Visa, AmEx and Maestro) and the cashier lady had the gall to say that our credit cards might not be working. However as soon as her colleague used a different working machine the first card was accepted. Never seen such rude behaviour for such sub-standard food and service.

We returned with so much disappointment. If you have a choice, please avoid this restaurant...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Taste of India in the Heart of Milan Just had dinner at Rangoli, and wow—what an experience! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The interiors were vibrant yet peaceful, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. We tried the Aperitivo platter which included small bites like Pani Puri and Pakoras—a flavorful introduction to the night. I paired it with their house-special Mangorita, which was tangy, tropical, and unlike anything I’ve had before. For dinner, the Dal Makhani and Paneer Butter Masala were incredibly rich and authentic. The spices were balanced beautifully—not too overwhelming, just right. The kulfi at the end was the cherry on top! If you’re in Milan and craving real Indian food with top-notch service, Rangoli is the place. Already planning our next visit. 🙌

Rangoli has changed since I last visited and now a completely new restaurant. They told me that the restaurant was renewed last summer, now it is quite large with seating in 2 floors. Today we met up few friends with family over lunch, we were 15 including kids. Overall had a great experience with the ambience and the lower floor was almost for us as there were no other questa luckily considering Christmas Eve. The food is slightly expensive considering other Indian restaurants but considering the area it is fine. The taste of food is authentic when comes to North Indian tandoor cuisine but some dishes from south needs definite improvement in flavour (biriyani, madras chicken curry etc). Otherwise very well service and would definitely recommend to try for Indian food lovers.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Absolutely delightful experience at Rangoli! Visited this week for dinner and was genuinely impressed. We sat indoors, and the ambiance was cozy and elegant—no smell issues at all, just the aroma of delicious Indian spices. We started with the Pani Puri and Bhajiya—perfectly crisp and flavorful. I also tried the Mangorita cocktail—unique and refreshing! For mains, we had Butter Chicken and Murgh Malai Tikka, both cooked to perfection, with naan that was soft and buttery. To end the meal, we had the Kulfi—creamy and nostalgic, followed by a sip of amaro for that perfect digestif. Service was polite, timely, and warm. Truly a gem of an Indian restaurant in Milan—authentic flavors, great presentation, and a lovely vibe. Will definitely return again soon! 🍛✨
