As an American tourist - I had one of the best meals of my entire life so far here. I didn’t know that Sichuan was a type/category of Chinese food until we ate here, and let me tell you. It is nothing like anything else I’ve ever had and FAR surpassed all my expectations. Walk in - someone is making the dumplings in the front by hand. Super cute atmosphere, clean, welcoming. Most tables full of families with tons of delicious looking food covering them. We had the beef and tofu hotpot that came out bubbling in a stone pot, rice, spicy chicken and clams, and a large beer to split. The waiter was extremely kind and patient with us as we took forever to order using Google translate to read the menu. They do have a small English menu but it didn’t cover everything. Two girls a table over recommended the hotpot, and the waiter was kind enough to ask if we wanted to get it less spicy than normal because again, American tourists, which we appreciated. We asked for medium heat and wow it’ll kick you in the mouth in the BEST way, even toned down. Experienced sichuan peppercorns for the first time - delightful. The spicy chicken and clams were unforgettably delicious with crunchy peanuts and the best flavor. We were also given a little appetizer of what I think was seaweed/kelp and mushrooms - super yummy. Wouldn’t have ordered that on my own. To end, we got a nice tangy little probiotic drink that cooled us down after seeing the couple next to us get it. Fab idea. It was extremely affordable (total was less than 50€ for everything), fresh, flavorful, and a 10/10 experience. My only complaint is that we ate there on our last day so I couldn’t go again, and my stomach isn’t large enough to have eaten more. I’ll be dreaming about this restaurant forever and will hopefully come back someday. If you’re debating between this and ANYWHERE else. Eat here. You won’t regret it. Thanks for introducing us to such delicious food and having such a...
Read moreMy friend and I booked a table in advance, but as soon as we sat down, we were told we had to finish by 8:30 because a group of 13 was coming. We said okay, but then another staff member came and repeated it again with a cold tone. It felt like we were just placeholders for more “important” guests. The entire meal we kept hearing about “the 13 people,” which made us feel very unwelcome.
When I started ordering verbally, the waitress cut me off and said, “Use the iPad,” then dropped it on our table. We didn’t mind using it, but the attitude was rude and unnecessary.
We also saw a woman dining alone next to us. She was still eating when two new guests arrived. Staff tried to pull her table away and told the newcomers, “You may need to wait 15 minutes.” The woman heard it, quickly wiped her mouth, and rushed to finish. It was uncomfortable to watch.
On top of all that, we found a hair in our dry pot cauliflower. That was the final straw.
There are plenty of good Chinese restaurants in Milan. This one is not worth the stress...
