My recent dining experience at Le Chalet left much to be desired. Our party of six was excited to try out this supposedly positively reviewed restaurant, but it quickly became apparent that the positive reviews we had read were misleading or possibly fake. From the underwhelming food to the subpar service, our evening at Le Chalet was a letdown in every aspect.
The interior of the restaurant looked old, and did not at all reflect of a "Chalet", it was quite humid inside and it was also very warm. When we sat down they turned on a TV to show some random music videos. This we had to turn off our selves, since it only was annoying.
For the food, the two entrecôtes we ordered were far from exceptional. The meat lacked flavor and tenderness, leaving us wondering if it was prepared properly. The oysters were mediocre at best, lacking the freshness and delicate taste that one would expect from a good establishment. The tagliatelle dishes, was average at best and failed to impress.
To make matters worse, the wine we ordered was served warm, completely ruining the experience. It was as if they had completely neglected to store it properly, resulting in an unpleasant taste that was far from enjoyable.
The last disappointment came in the form of, the much talked about, citron sorbet. Instead of the refreshing and tangy sorbet we anticipated, we were served a poorly executed, watery concoction that lacked any distinct lemon flavor. This was free, so cant complain too much, but still, even as something that was free, it was not a positive experience.
The staff should get a OK for their service. But it's very difficult to find anything positive from our visit. Other than a kind staff.
It's disheartening to see that the positive reviews on Google may not accurately reflect the reality of dining at Le Chalet. I strongly advise potential diners to think twice before visiting this establishment, as there are certainly better options available in town that offer superior food, service, and...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PURE ITALIAN CUISINE. Please read on to see what I mean.
If the owners of this food establishment is reading this, I would like to gift to you 4 words - 画蛇添足
Don’t draw leg on the snake. As you can see the pasta has a big flower carrot and a big coriander tree as decoration.
I will not recommend this to any one who is looking for authentic Italian food. This is a Chinese version. The chef, waiter, owner are all Chinese and the atmosphere is very China style. For example they have 2 big round tables in the restaurant. Would pure Italian restaurants have round tables?
I was there for a quick dinner with my family and I’m disappointed. The name of the restaurant sounds Italian but the waiter and chef are all Chinese. It was full of Chinese diners as well and they were talking very loudly. Not to mentioned they had the TV on and it was very noisy coupled with a loud voices of the Chinese diners. I witness 3 groups of diners came in and left probably due to the bad atmosphere.
The bangla waiter didn’t even understand any English.
There are many Asians who reviewed this place highly but being an Asian I will say if you are looking for pure Italian place don’t come here. If you are looking for Pasta Mania then yes do come here.
Look at the steak. The waiter mentioned it’s their speciality but it’s black without a charred and we ordered medium rare but got well.
Word of advise - your restaurant is big segregate between the Chinese and western diners. You are scaring the...
Read moreI found myself extremely surprised to see that this place has an amazing food quality of italian cousine. It is run from chinese family and not italians, but I am italian and their cooking deserves a try. After discovering them i had to go again and again because of the quality of the food which i found excellent and with good preparation, real italian way. You can only eat inside, there is no dining outside. Until now there was also no sitting waiting time, but there was several seats always occupied, was never empty. The place has also an extremely large schedule, making it affordable to reach if you arrive from the station for work or just passing by. Waiting time for the food is fair: usually 10-15 minutes, depending from the food you get. (Not bad at all considering the preparation of...
