Remulass — Restaurant in Milan

What a disaster of a visit this turned into. Food was ok at best. The "innovative" risotto tasted like a mix of grilled cheese and ketchup. Everything else was fine however you could do much better elsewhere. Service was ok until it wasn't. It took nearly 45 minutes in between courses for the food to arrive. The server took a wrong order and served the wrong dish to one of us - so we waited another 20 minutes for the correct dish to arrive. And then, we were asked to leave as the 2 hour window had passed to no fault of our own and we offered the option for us to take the fish to go as if that would be appetizing. Then it wasn't brought to the table so we had to go seeking it and the bill wasn't correct on top of that. We ended up throwing it in the garbage. No compensation offered, just a sorry! The entire table of us were shocked. We were empathetic - apparently they had just expanded and didn't have enough staff. At least acknowledge the error and offer compensation without us having to put up a fuss. Only when I contacted the owner was the dish refunded as the bare minimum. Overall, this situation left a bad taste...

Absolutely delightful bistro. I came here in 2023 and had a life changing risotto, which I still consider the benchmark for that dish. I have referred a number of traveling friends here, who have all have raved about it as well. I dined again last night and had another memorable meal! Chef Francesco is focusing on seasonal vegetables and his stuffed pepper dish and eggplant with Bearnaise were delicious! Of course, the current risotto set, done with fermented grapes, coffee bits and blue cheese was just as amazing as I’d remembered. The wine list is well curated, focusing on small producers using low intervention technique. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a small, but very popular restaurant, and advance reservations are highly recommended. I can’t wait to return to Milano and dinner...

What happened to Remulass?? What happened to this beautiful place? When did the service become so bad? The female waitress (dark haired) was absolutely rude to us! She refused to explain the menu to us, tho her friends had arrived right after us and she literally sat down and explained every thing to them. And since when the waiter who cleans the table with a microfiber, IS ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE FOOD (BREAD) WITH HIS BEAR HANDS??? Isn’t this unhygienic?!

However. The food was 10/10, food never disappoints in this place.

Please train your waiters, tell them how to be nice to the customers, give them a handbook of dos and don’ts, cause in 2025 I don’t want my food to be touched by the people who clean the table, you can at least wash your hands...
