Égalité — Restaurant in Milan

Love this place, the design and atmosphere are very nice, comfortable and pleasant. Drinks and food are tasty, as well as a freshly baked bread to take home. The only issue is the problem with organization of the work. We called in advance and were told that the place is open till 21:00 (1st of May). Consequently we've arrived one hour before (around 20:00) to have a drink and some finger food. As we entered the places were available, but we were told that we can not be served as they have too many people now. And it will take 40 minutes to serve us the drinks and food. This was a really bad impression! First of all, you are open one more hour, we did not arrive 10 mins before closure. Secondly, the waiter has not even yet known what we want to order, but already said NO. I can not believe that to fill 4 glasses of wine takes 40 min. Thirdly, I am as a customer not interested in the inner organisational problems of your place. You have a certain amount of place and people to work there. What we saw means either you need more people to work or fewer tables to be served. This should not be the problem of a customer, that you do not have time for everybody! Excellent breakfast experience,one of the best in Milan. Extremely wide choice of sweets for breakfast, all of them king size. Excellent cappuccino, very good coffee. This bakery produces bread to be both on sale in place & supplied to several restaurants. The bakery area of the premise is properly insulated from the public area but permanently on show through glass walls. Crew is young, polite, effective, friendly. Several seats available both indoor & outdoor. Prices absolutely reasonable, considering the quality & the size of sweets. It will be interesting to enjoy lunch & aperitives. Update. Interesting breads, both usual at absolutely acceptable prices & unusual types at reasonable prices. Update. I recommend the sweet with almond & chocolate filling. Update. Absolutely recommended the roller with pistachio cream. Update. Two visits ago, unfortunately both coffee & cappuccino were quite disappointing. Incredible ! As a french person, I can testify that every thing at égalité is authentic, fresh and of great quality. Besides, it is even better than the average boulangerie pâtisserie in France and corresponds rather to a very good one. The pains au chocolat are to die for, airy and light in the middle but a super nice crisp all around, giving the best combination of textures at every bite. You can tell just by looking at them and at the croissants that they are excellent. They look amazing. The baguettes are so good too. I am part of the french society of bocconi university and we always get baguettes and viennoiseries from égalité for our events and they never disappoint !
