Taberna 33 Bistró — Restaurant in Minori

Sadly, we did not have a nice experience here. The place was recommended to us by a local, so we checked it out online and saw that people liked the restaurant and the food. When we arrived, however, there was a weird situation where we had to wait for 20 minutes for a free table for two, even though there was a double table that could have been pushed apart which was completely free. When another couple came, however, the tables were immediately pushed apart and they could sit down. This may have simply been a misunderstanding, but the rest of the experience did not make it better.

The food, while looking good and being slightly higher priced than surrounding restaurants, was entirely flavourless. We were surprised by the good sized portions and looking forward to eating, but the food just tasted like nothing. We had a bruschetta to share with roasted octopus, the only flavor of which was a slight bitterness of the bread, lemon pasta, for which we had to wait quite a while, and a sort of Italian Focaccia burger. As mentioned above, sadly nothing had any flavour, the burger made my stomach feel queasy and on top of that, after I got my burger, my partner waited an additional 10-15 minutes for her food.

We do not understand how this was our experience, especially after this being a local recommendation and after seeing the reviews and talking to another couple who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Maxbe we were just unlucky, but we, unfortunately, cannot recommend this restaurant, based on...

It absolutely blows my mind that this place was rated so highly on Google Maps. Short answer, if you're looking for a place to eat, this one is best avoided.

Long answer:

I think the decor looks well and the staff were nice. So 2 stars for that. Though there was a TV on the entire time we were there playing Italian Pop with the sound on (What's that about!?).

We had the 'special' which was spaghetti dish. The spaghetti itself was from a package (I know cos they got it out of a box beside our table), some tomotaoes (ok), olive (ok, but why Greek?) and cod (which tasted like it had been frozen, though I have no idea whether it had been or not).

Kids spaghetti dish was better, sauce was decent and meatballs were fine, so I ate their left overs.

Absolutely delightful restaurant by the shore in Minori; got to have a little table in a doorway overlooking the mountainside and some of the esplanade, with lovely welcoming staff who were very friendly and gave good advice for food, drink and also helped with small things like extra napkins and table stabilising. Had some incredible puff-croquette style appetisers called Pasta Omelettes that had some mini spaghetti inside with delicious flavour and texture, as well as the Cod Millefeuille which was superb, with wonderful taste, perfect texture and excellent balance with the other components including some crispy peppers.
