Cibo Pasticceria — Restaurant in Modena

Terrible: obscene prices, rude and incompetent service. We sat down after lunch for coffee and drinks. As a start: they did not even bother to clean the table. Furthermore, they charged us 10 euros for a pot of tea with very small tepid water with 2 tea bags. On top of that they charged us 1.20 euros for few tiny biscuits that usually are included with tea. I think that if you charge something you should ask before if the client wants it… 4.5 euros for a miserable cup of hot chocolate and 4 euros for a coke. Stay away from this place unless you want to be charged stupid prices for very low quality of products...

Siamo capitate da “Cibo” in veste di turiste provenienti da Roma e mai ci saremmo aspettate una situazione simile. Entriamo per mangiare qualcosa verso le 11:40 il giorno 23 luglio 2023, di tre ragazze presenti ce ne fosse stata una che si è degnata di chiedere se ci occorresse qualcosa ed anzi, nel momento in cui mi sono avvicinata ad una delle tre dietro il bancone ha ben deciso di tirare fuori sigaretta ed accendino ed uscire a fumare. Il bar era praticamente vuoto e la situazione gestibilissima quindi parlando da barista non comprendo come sia accettabile un bancone pieno zeppo di piatti,tazzine e cucchiani usati,senza contare briciole macchie ed altri oggetti. Abbiamo preso un pezzo di pizza chiedendo di riscaldarlo, quindi la ragazza va per prendere una pinza da una ciotola contenente una penna per scrivere ed altri oggetti che non sarebbero dovuti essere li, nel momento in cui solleva la pinza si accorge di un grosso pezzo di cibo rimasto attaccato quindi ben pensa di rimetterla al suo posto nonostante fosse sporca e prenderne un’altra apparentemente più pulita. Alla location darei più stelle perché oggettivamente il locale è bello,ma sporco,visibilmente sporco da far venire i ripensamenti al cliente, anche perché data la lentezza ed il menefreghismo nel servirti delle ragazze presenti si ha tutto il tempo per guardarsi attorno e notare determinate cose. Servizio lento sí,ma non nel momento in cui bisogna arrotondare 99 centesimi ad un euro ed arrivare a prezzo pieno, ovviamente battendo sullo scontrino 99 centesimi. Questa scena è stata replicata più volte mentre aspettavo di essere servita. It is next to the Duomo. It was nearly full and we wanted to try some local pastries in Cibo. Staff was very friendly. Even if the communication was English for us and Italian for them, it was very easy. They are very quick.

I loved that there were no forks and knives. Everything is served on a small coffee plate.

We tried something like cigborek in Turkish culture (salty puffed pastry without filling), 2 large sweets like French eclairs, 1 chocolate croissant and 2 cappuccinos and paid only 12€.
