Mon Cafè — Restaurant in Modena

A nice meal out in Modena. Our server—a tall, slight young woman with dark curly hair—was very kind and accommodating. She made a wine recommendation that was perfect.

The table appetizers of ham hats (my description) and salami on bread and soufflé bites was welcome and delicious. My pork tournedos were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. My son chose a steak dish that was good but a little too fatty and gristly. My wife’s octopus dish was well-cooked and tender, but the octopus lacked flavor.

Our experience at Mon Cafè while on our honeymoon was truly incredible! The breakfast was everything you’d want it to be — the espresso was excellent, the pastries were sweet and delicate, and the atmosphere was authentic and inviting. The staff were incredibly kind, and their service was impeccable. We also had a few drinks here before we caught our train out of town, and they were delicious. We came here intending to get dinner, but decided to do as the locals do and started with aperitivo and then dinner. Best decision ever!

The food was wonderful, cocktails were one of the best we’ve ever had (the peaty and thor were great for a summer day), and of course we just had to do dessert after being so impressed with both the food and service.

Definitely a must-stop...
