Simply, the best restaurant in the old town. They guys who run it are kind, welcoming, and they care. I’ve had all the pasta dishes here, and they’re stellar. The caccio peppe with red tuna tartare is special. They have proper pepper. Like oodles of pepper that gives it a bite that other restaurants are too cowardly to give. The clams and linguine with little bits of red shrimp couldn’t be fresher. The port is like 50 feet away. There are some silly expensive places in the square, but this is the treat. Prices are great, staff is kind, wine choices are stellar. I’ve never picked the wine, I just ask what they think would go well, and they’ve been 10/10. Enjoy your meal and know that I’m jealous.

A great introduction to Monopoli It was our first night in Puglia & Stumbled upon this restaurant on a cold winter’s evening (Monday) & so glad they were open! We were warmly welcomed & there was a long table of Italians (obviously a company dinner) so it was a good indication that the food was good! And we had some of the freshest & most delicious seafood - grilled to perfection with a great chilli olive oil! The seafood pasta was probably one of the best we’ve had. Overall we had a most enjoyable meal here. Prices are a little higher than normal but worth every cent. Highly recommend!

Shame! Even though we went there recommended by owners friends, it was so dissapointing. Look at the picture of what they served as the "recommended pizza" and saying it was ok when we enquire about it... The waiter even said that was ok, no recognising that was not what supposed to be. That was the nost shocking part, but some other ingredients were missing as well from other dishes...shame! Waiters were pushy and not friendly! Iceberg lettuce on a pizza! 100% italian! Just unbelievable! SHAME!

Tourists stay away!

(In short): We got bullied around, waited for almost 2 hours for our food while other guests finished their whole meal, many of them arrived after us, we ordered fried fish and pasta nothing special. Total chicanery.

We arrived around 22:30 and asked for a table outside (two were empty). We were allocated to a table outside, soon they approached us and asked us to move to another table, which was fine. Then they asked us to move inside with no apparent reason. We were confused and they allowed us to stay outside. Since then, we felt uncomfortable. It took them 1 hour for the starters, meanwhile ALL other guests (including those that arrived after us) received not only their starters but also their main dishes! Finally, after midnight we got our main dish, it was hot and it was obvious that it was just prepared, right before the restaurant was closing. So, we had to rush eating our food. AGAIN, all other guests finished their meals comfortably by then, many of them arrived after us.

I honestly don't know what we did to deserve this treatment. I cannot come up with one reason. Only thing I noticed is, that we were the only tourists i.e. non-Italian guests. This is the first Google Review in my life, I am so angry, we payed 50 Euro in total just to be bullied around for no reason whatsoever. Thanks and please take my...

Don’t waist your time/money here. Ordered the grilled seafood and it was literally 4 pieces of over FRIED shrimp (full of panco), and 2 “clams” - for 18 euro, it should be at least good quality if not quantity. They took our plate before we were even done with it (we were sharing between two people). I ordered the Orecchiete with rape and shrimp tartare and was brought first of all a mistaken dish (I get it, it can happen) and no one came for about 10 min, so I had to get up to ask for the right one. This took another 10 min at least. When the actual dish came, it was a joke. 2 pieces of frozen shrimp in a small Portion of pasta with, again, TONS OF PANCO (????) and zero flavor. Just broccoli-like with pasta soaked in oil (not even olive oil) and no garlic, no salt, no nothing. I got a stomachache after this. Ridiculous. Additionally, everyone was rude the whole time and would make faces while talking to customers (except for a teenage waiter).

You don’t need to love your job but you also don’t need to hate...

By far, the worst restaurant my partner and I visited in Monopoli. The staff seemed completely disinterested in our patronage. The staff did not offer us bread and oil as they had others and were cold to us forgetting to give us menus. We ordered the Prawns and Clams Pasta which was awful. The pasta was slimey, and for a Prawns pasta, it showed up with only a quarter of prawn in the plate.

Not knowing they I could understand Italian, they also spoke poorly about my partner and I at our table and when paying for the bill.

This restaurant is focused on getting customers in and out as fast as possible and for the highest price.

Don’t spend a penny here, there’s hundreds of other restaurants offering amazing service and food here...
