In Piazzetta | Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Monopoli

The food here was really good, so sorry for the low rating, we enjoyed what we ate. The service was also very friendly and the waiter spoke good English. Something went wrong with the timing and delivery of the dishes however. We were a family of two adults and two kids. We ordered six oysters to start to share and then for main course the girls ordered a pasta and a pizza respectively, whilst my wife and I ordered tuna and cod from the segondi with two sides of fried potato and grilled vegetables. The oysters came together with the pasta and pizza… ok, it’s a misunderstanding, but could still work, if our mains overlapped the girls dishes, but they didn’t. The fish came when the girls were finished and only when we prompted. All these dishes were very good. No complaints at all about the food. The tuna especially was fantastic. Not cheap, but not unreasonable price-wise. But what happened to our sides? They never came. We had hoped to share everything between the four of us but it was all staggered, or didn’t arrive at all, which made for a somewhat frustrating experience. The next table over were having a similar problem, waiting for their main courses, and a few tables down there was much confusion as well. It was a Tuesday night, so not peak time. My family and I had an awful experience at this restaurant. We waited quite a while just to be seated, and once we got a table we were completely ignored for nearly 40 minutes. We tried several times to get the attention of the floor staff, who would say “just a minute” but never came back m. Instead, they stood around chatting or wandering around as if they had nothing else to be doing. We couldn’t help but feel that we were being deliberately overlooked because we spoke English (we’re from Ireland). Ironically, my daughter is fluent in Italian and could’ve easily communicated with them if that was the issue - but no one gave us a chance. In the end, we left without being served. Simona was very helpful and he knew costumer service very well, we had a booking for indoor but at some point they did not make it for us, when we realised that we have to eat outdoor my husband wanted to go to somewhere else as outside was a bit cold but Simona made our night he said just have your appetiser outdoor then will move you in, we had all our 3 course outside and he offered us champagne which was very nice.
