Rosso Granato Monopoli — Restaurant in Monopoli

We went to Rosso Granato two days in a row, that says it all! The food was simply outstanding. We especially loved the gnocchi with zucchini cream, salmon, and pistachios (€14) and the gnocchi Sorrentina with tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella (€12). Truly the best gnocchi we had in Monopoli!

The Aperol Spritz and Campari Spritz were excellent. The tiramisu (€6) was not only incredibly tasty but also very generously portioned, easily enough for two people. An absolute highlight, the best tiramisu in all of Monopoli!

Another nice touch: the coperto is a very reasonable €1 per person, and while you wait, they bring you a bowl of olives and fresh bread, a thoughtful and welcoming gesture!

A big compliment to the staff: incredibly warm, attentive, and truly passionate about what they do. Our waiter was especially kind and spoke perfect English, a real professional with heart!

We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting...

Moreover, you get a kitchen that is almost 100% home made. 😋😋😋 It directly at the city center in a nice angle of 2 places. Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III & Piazza 20Sep. A true appulian & modern woman and a real sweet heart. ❤️❤️❤️ She also speaks perfectly English & German and is a true food & drink lover at all standards. I am extremely disappointed with the service we received at Rosso Granato. Upon arrival, there was no greeting from the person in charge. After we seated ourselves and waited for service, our son politely said "excuse me" in Italian. The person in charge, assuming we didn't understand Italian, called us idiots and told us to wait. Our son, who speaks Italian, understood this insult but hesitated to tell us. When we decided to leave due to the long wait time, he finally told us what was said.

Such behavior is unacceptable in any setting, especially in the service industry. While having a difficult day is understandable, this level of rudeness towards customers is never justified. We will not be returning and hope that the management addresses this...
