Bar Caffè La Fortezza di Cecchini Gabriele — Restaurant in Montalcino

This is my favorite place to go to relax and enjoy great food and wine. I visit Caffè la Fortezza every time I come to Italy. On this visit I brought some friends. We shared the Charcuterie board with Prosciutto, salami, pecorino cheese, bruschetta with tomatoes and 2 different Brunello and a Rosso di Montalcino. We skipped breakfast to come here so we had pasta dishes, a plate of tomatoes and a bottle of Rosso di Montalcino. The staff, especially Jessica treated us very specially. Truly a great place to have a quick lunch and wine tasting set menu. Competitive price and great foods. We had lunch and dinner at the same day. Outside table was really great to feel the cool ambience of Montalcino with the quick Italian panini before winery tasting tour within Montalcino. Then we came back again to try their own tasting menu with rosso and brunello wines with bruschetta and salumi plate which turned out very satisfied. What a lovely place to stop by for a mid morning ‘pick me up’. We called in and had expressos, paninis and pastries. They we all delicious and the coffees were fabulous.
