Midi Bar — Restaurant in Monterosso al Mare

Great meeting spot right on the square in Montorosso. Nico looked after us so well, he must be the hardest working barman in Italy, and always with a smile while making sure everyone was having a good time. It was a real pleasure hanging out there, with lovely staff, great choice of music and wide drinks selection at reasonable prices (Nico also has some pretty cool cocktail creations of his own). Food was also pretty good (bear in mind this is a bar/cafe, not a restaurant) They do a nice focaccia and a solid bacon & eggs, with good coffee. We stayed at Montorosso for a little over a week in May (got married there) and because of how welcoming, warm and friendly the atmosphere was, Bar Midi quickly became our favourite place for meeting friends and watching the world go by while enjoying a few drinks. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would!! We came for drinks at this bar every night we were there. The waiter, Nicholas is super friendly, funny and overall brings a great vibe to the bar! Our drinks always came super fast and were accompanied by a variety of snacks (for free with the drinks). It was also a bonus that it’s right by the ocean. I’d recommend to all my friends and family. If you are looking for a place to have a couple drinks with great service and vibes, don’t skip out on this place!

PS, the service is so incredible that if you forget anything, Nicholas will literally run with your item (sunglasses, purse, etc.) to give it to you! We saw this happen twice in the three nights we were there!...

Not at all surprised that they only have 3,2% rating on Google. Last night they were totally understaffed, but had HEROES working in the bar. Doing 100 people plus outside without a system to take care of the cheques and only one person doing orders is close to a miracle. Today they don't accept orders in the bar because the woman from yesterday has been replaced with. S L O W M O! I don't want to be rude, as they are still understaffed, but wasting more time arguing about one shot than actually serving it is just (sadly) incompetent. Easy fix, treat your staff better by having more staff working!! And I don't want to end this review without repeating that this place has TRUE HEROES working...
