Torre Aurora — Restaurant in Monterosso al Mare

Worst ever staff!!! Worst ever service !!! Travelled all over the world to 120 countries never experienced such a careless and rude attitude!!! Shame shame shame !!! Mybeautiful experience in this breathtaking views place was completely ruined by absolutely unprofessional and rude service. I was informed by waitress that my table will be available untill 7.30, I’ve double checked with her several times and asked her to confirm with reception , before I ordered another drink, I told her that it would be extremely inconvenient for me to jump to another table in 30 mins or to finish my drink and snacks in a hurry in case it’s not 7.30 pm. Then 30 mins before agreed time at 7 pm she just put on my table box with bill and barcode for tips without saying anything at all and without notifying that agreed time was changed , or smth else , she just put bill on the table and left . I second guessed myself that I have to move in a middle of my drink and snacks. I called for hostess for clarification and instead of apologizing he was rushing me out of table . Being rushed I hurt my head by the tree which is on top of my table , today I have huge swelling and pain in place of injury. Later I met manager of restaurant, he as well kept arguing with me that table was reserved by other guests , when I tried to tell that staff should not provide wrong information and should give times of next reservation accordingly , he was just arguing and arguing and arguing instead of simply apologizing . Not to mention that my waitress kept talking to me Italian which obviously I don’t speak. She was speaking perfect English to American couple next table , but when I was talking in English to her , she was only replying in Italian again and again ( maybe my Russian origin made her obviously discriminative ) Sorry my great experience was ruined by rude staff and on top of it my head injury as well . We went to have dinner in what should have been one of the most beautiful spots in Monterosso, at the top of the hill with stunning views. Unfortunately, what began as a promising meal quickly turned into one of the worst dining experiences of my life.

The restaurant was absolutely infested with mosquitoes. It wasn’t just one or two. It was an invasion!! A mosquito even landed in my glass of water, and I had to constantly protect my wine from them. I personally killed several mosquitoes at the table, and still ended up with multiple bites. Every single table around us was struggling, and another couple even told us they had already killed around 50.

What makes this worse is that the staff did absolutely nothing about it. No apology, no attempt to help, no acknowledgement — just complete indifference, as if this was normal. For a fine dining restaurant (with prices to match), this is unacceptable.

The location is undeniably beautiful, but never in my life have I had to fight off so many bugs while trying to enjoy a meal. It was not just unpleasant — it was truly disgusting, and it completely ruined what should have been a memorable dinner in my...

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. My wife and I stopped by Torre Aurora Mare Cucina & Cocktails to take a short break after a long walk. We sat down with the intention of relaxing and later ordering food — we were in no rush.

We ordered a macchiato, an espresso, and a bottle of water. Along with that, they brought us two glasses of prosecco we didn’t ask for — but we didn’t complain.

Just a couple of minutes later, a waiter came over (not the one who initially served us) and asked if we were ready to order food. We politely said we needed a bit more time to relax and that we would order shortly. However, in the next ten minutes, he came over three times asking the same question. Finally, he told us that ordering food is mandatory at this place — basically implying we weren’t welcome unless we ate. It felt like we were being forced out.

To make matters worse, when the bill came, we were charged for everything — including the two proseccos we never ordered. The total was €20.
