Antica Pizzeria Chiaia — Restaurant in Naples

We found this little gem on our last night in Naples, and it was by far the best dining experience while we were there. The young woman who greeted us when we entered was so welcoming and friendly. She gave us a tour of the restaurant and then invited us to sit wherever we liked. Honestly, we felt like we had been welcomed into someone's home for an authentic Neopolitan meal!

My wife and I shared an appetizer, and then we each ordered our own pizza. It was all delicious! We were stuffed! The wine they served was excellent (and very reasonably priced, as was the food), and they didn't charge us for cold water. In fact, they put a pitcher of water on the table to ensure we wouldn't go without! That was the only restaurant while in Naples\Positano\Amalfi\Ravello\Capri that offered us complementary water!

After our meal our waitress pulled a chair up to our table, we sat together and talked for a good while as she seemed genuinely interested in learning who we were. She also graciously answered our questions to her about her story. We were old enough to be her grandparents and this personal, intimate experience left us feeling not only satisfied with our meal but also with a warm heart.

Our only regret was not finding Antica Pizzeria Chiaia sooner.

We recently spent an 8-day holiday in Naples, and for 4 of those nights, we found ourselves returning to the warm and welcoming Antica Pizzeria Chiaia. After long days exploring the beautiful surroundings of Naples, we were always famished when we came back to our base in the Chiaia area. Thankfully, we were so lucky to have this incredible pizzeria just around the corner.

The girls who served us were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home each time. They always had a smile on their faces and took the time to chat, making each visit a pleasure. The pizza chef was equally wonderful and so skilled—watching him expertly toss the dough high into the air was a real treat. Every pizza was crafted to perfection, with that signature Neapolitan flair.

I'm not sure where to begin my review with. It's a relatively new place. It was opened about two months ago, but it feels like it has been longer at the market. The interior gives a vibe of an Italian house ( I only missed the carpets). The waitresses are wearing cute aprons, and you can watch your pizza being made from your table. Everyone is smiling, and we learned about some food customs from the local area. Now the food. We have had two types of Pizza Margherita ( our favourite was with buffalo mozzarella,) two starters fried in deep oil, wine with local peaches ( very delicious and I recommended to try it) and dessert - little dumpling with chocolate. Well, I could barely walk out after eating all that delicious food. We have made a mistake leaving that restaurant for our last day in Naples. However, it nicely sumed up our trip.
