Well this was a very unexpected worst food experience in Naples. We had a fried based pizza with stracciatella, anchovies and special Piennolo tomatoes and a classic Inferno one, plus a salad (which is a salad let’s be honest). The restaurant is very busy therefore the service couldn’t possibly spend much time to provide suggestions or to pay attention to your table: there is just too much to cover. The food is a very mediocre pizza at its best that happens to be also overpriced. My fried pizza was super bad: sugo sauce was extremely bitter, not well seasoned - too much of dried oregano didn’t help either. Small pieces of anchovies couldn’t add the saltiness to stracciatella even if they tried - just too tiny to make it something worth trying or coming back to. Classic pizza was a bit better thanks to a different sugo but still there was nothing exceptional or extra that came with it. I also did not specifically enjoy the conversation with the waiter when I was trying to provide a feedback: I don’t care if this pizza is supposed to be super special or just semi special. The fried one was just not good. 5 euro discount out of 16 euros is a bit pathetic, especially if you see that 80% of the pizza wasn’t eaten. Sorry guys, do better even if you think that tourists won’t know the difference. Trust...
Read moreWe came across this restaurant on the first evening of our trip that started with a day in Napoli. After strolling through the small streets of the Spanish Quarter and Centro Storico on a Sunday evening we were trying to find a pizza restaurant that still had a table for four available outside and this place did. It is located in a street with lots of graffiti on the walls, not necessarily the most appealing area, but this restaurant still managed to get an inviting terras with some nice green wall coverings. However, we still had to discover the biggest asset of this restaurant: the pizza’s! We ordered several pizza’s and they all competed for the best pizza we ever had. Great crust, great taste. We even likes it so much that at the end of our trip through the area, on the last evening when we returned to Napoli, we walked 20 minutes during an extremely hot day to visit the restaurant again, and we were not disappointed. I know that almost each street in Napoli has a few pizza restaurants, there must be more than a thousand in the city, but this certainly is one of the best...
Read moreThe most amazing pizza/food experience in Napoli!
We had the tasting plate for 2 people as a starter, an absolute must try with a selection of fried pastas. We both ordered pizza, with the most incredible crust I've ever seen. To finish off the night, we had some amazing desserts as well, you just can't go wrong with this place.
The icing on the cake was the incredible wait staff, so friendly and attentive. Really well priced for what it was, felt like a true Napoli experience. I wouldn't have felt like we had done Napoli properly without being able to say I've had the best pizza I've ever had, but thanks to this restaurant I can definitely say that. And we have a lot of great pizza in Melbourne, Australia.
How this isn't considered one of the top pizza places in Napoli I'll never understand. No wait for a table either, a...
