I had dinner with my wife at PALAZZO PETRUCCI PIZZERIA, and sadly, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish.
The food was mediocre—definitely not what we expected from a place with such a reputation. But the real issues were with the service and the way we were treated as customers.
We asked for still bottled water, but were served tap water instead, poured from an already opened bottle labeled as sparkling water. When we questioned it, the staff casually insisted, “Don’t worry, it’s still water.” This was dishonest and unacceptable. It felt like a deliberate attempt to mislead us, charging for bottled water while giving us plain tap.
On top of that, we were charged both a coperto and a 10% service fee. The coperto charge is typically justified when a restaurant provides bread or a small appetizer at the beginning of the meal—but in our case, we received absolutely nothing. Yet, we were still charged for it.
Between the dishonest water situation, the unjustified coperto, and the automatic service fee, it’s clear this place is more interested in squeezing money out of guests than offering a quality dining experience.
We left very disappointed and won’t be returning. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values honesty, transparency, and decent...
Read morePalazzo Petrucci is known for its liaison with the star restaurant a bit further down in Naples close to the bay. We were invited to the terrace upstairs and it must be said, it's a very nice location! There is also a terrace downstairs on the square and some tables inside are also available. There is plenty of young staff and they are all very well trained in how always put a smile and be polite. They speak sufficient English and also the menu is available in English as half of the people visiting that night were foreign. Nevertheless, there were some very big Italian families as well, so I was quite happy to see that actually. They all ordered the Marinara or Margarita so of course I did the same! The restaurant should be known for the pizza and I can only confirm that, they know how to make a good artisanal pizza! The rest of the menu consists of salads and deserts (and some temporary dishes to start). Toilets were clean and modern and in general as negative points I would note the hygiene of the table, terrace, cutlery etc... Unfortunately that's a bit how Naples is consistent in that. To conclude: I went with high expectations and just for a pizza is good but it lacks the touch to be really top. Hygiene, cleanliness and presentation is a must these days to be...
Read moreWe found the place by accident, as it was raining heavily outside. We were greeted by about 10 waiters, seated at a table, immediately ordered a pizza and then looked at the menu to order drinks. About 15 minutes passed, no one came to us, and when we called out to the waiters, they just ignored us. Afterwards, a waiter came up to us and we told him that we had ordered pizza, and he said, "What? No, I don't remember." It was just a ridiculous attitude. And it went on like that throughout the evening. When other people were sitting next to us and they were being circled, they immediately took away the plates, changed the napkins, etc. The pizza was delicious, but the service was terrible. And in fact, it's not worth going there, because for that price you can eat no less delicious pizza in another restaurant in the city, where they will take your order on time and remember to bring you food. Despite the fact that we paid for the service just like everyone else, we didn't get it. And in general, it's very interesting, why keep ~10 waiters in the restaurant at the same time, who are just talking to each other but...
