During our recent visit to Naples, my wife and I had the privilege of dining at La Locanda Gesu Vecchio, a renowned Michelin restaurant. Despite the initial wait for a table, the dining experience at this establishment was nothing short of extraordinary.
Upon entering the restaurant, it was evident why La Locanda Gesu Vecchio was fully booked. The ambiance exuded elegance and sophistication, setting the stage for a memorable evening. We were greeted warmly by the staff, who made us feel welcome and attended to our needs throughout the evening.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the food. La Locanda Gesu Vecchio showcased culinary excellence with each dish. The fresh pasta, cooked to perfection, was a true delight for our taste buds. The flavors were expertly balanced, and each bite was a journey of pure satisfaction. The attention to detail in the presentation was remarkable, further enhancing the overall dining experience.
The service was swift and efficient, ensuring that our evening flowed seamlessly. The staff members were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, enhancing the already exceptional dining experience. Their passion for food and commitment to delivering top-notch service was evident in every interaction.
Considering the level of quality and the Michelin reputation, we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices at La Locanda Gesu Vecchio. The value for money was exceptional, making it an even more memorable experience.
The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the tiramisu. It was a culinary masterpiece, an absolute symphony of flavors and textures. The velvety cream, perfectly balanced sweetness, and delicate layers left us in awe. It was the perfect finale to an unforgettable dining experience.
Leaving La Locanda Gesu Vecchio with a big smile on our faces, we couldn't help but plan our next visit already. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a remarkable culinary journey in Naples. The combination of sublime food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices ensures an experience that lingers in your memory long after the last bite. We eagerly await our return on our next...
Read moreWorst steak I've ever eaten, the tenderloin is supposed to be the most delicate part, yet here it was chewy, burned and had hard elements I had to spit out. The pasta was mid - egg yolk was hard cooked and there was no information in the menu that the egg would be even fried. Overall very disappointed, I do not recommend those two dishes. Staff and the restaurant itself were nice, although we did not get plates to eat the bread. Also I made a reservation for a table outside and we were seated inside instead.
Answering the owner's response: you should stop blaming the client and just take the criticism to make the meat right in the first place, then you don't have to defend yourself like that. Putting the responsibility on me to speak up is just funny, I was heavily disappointed and just wanted to finish the dinner and go. You can't be mean about the fact that you overcooked the meat and I didn't say anything, it's not my fault and it's not gonna make my rating higher. Like I said: the menu did not have a fried egg? I never said it did not have egg at all. Carbonara has egg as well yet you don't eat it fried. That was a genuine point to just consider that it's fried? I also doubt the yolk was meant to be hard boiled. And I'm a college student, if I pay 19€ for a meal I am going to finish it, and like I said the pasta was mid so what's schocking about finishing it and not wasting food? I think the same was with a man sitting next to us who was spitting his tenderloin as well. I'm super disappointed in your response and how unproffesional it is for a restaurant like that. Maybe change your mindset to serve your clients a meal done properly instead of wiping faces with Michelin and putting the blame on people who just wanted to have a nice dinner together. Btw I did not post a rating on TripAdvisor, that was a different opinion from a person I was with. And there was nothing mean or rude in my rating here - just stating my opinion, yet I was met with an immature...
Read moreMichelin is a mark of distinction awarded by the Michelin travel guides to a restaurant in recognition of the high quality of its cooking. The expectations were not sky high but still higher than I would have if I went to a random restaurants on the side of the road. I ordered 2 starter one was the Mozzarella in carroza and the other the Provola alla pizzaiola. The first one was way to oily thus greasy and hard to eat, the other was luckily a delish. Then I ordered different kind of pasta such a the Ziti alla genovese. It was so salty that it turned to be disgusting. The sauce and the meat were way to salty that I had to drain the pasta of their sauce to eat it and as I didn't want to waste you can guess I cleaned my plate with... their bread. Yeah the Italian bread. I know that you know the problem with the bread if you're French apart from the fact that it was rock solid. Food aside, the service was just bad. Even in "normal restaurant" they have a better service. Just seated and they rushed to ask if we wanted to drink something. Chill I did not even open your menu yet. Then, they do not even care about you during the meal busy chatting and laughing together within themselves. And the music was way to loud I couldn't even hear my partner talking. I do not recommend as you can guess, will stick with the small businesses devoid of...
