We first got a take out Margherita pizza here and it was delicious and only $4.50 so we decided to come back for dinner another night. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment.
First, the prices were 1-2+ euros more than they had been at lunch/take out. We were annoyed but assumed this was essentially including a coperto/service fee. However, we were also charged 1 euro each service fee despite this not being written on the menu. Additionally, we were charged for two waters despite only asking for one and receiving flat water when we asked for sparkling.
The pizza was also disappointing, the Margherita was good but the second pizza, had a hair in it, was burnt (not just a nice amount for flavour but overly burnt), and did not have tomato sauce like we expected despite being a “Rosso”.
On top of all this, the restaurant was super loud due to a large group celebration that arrived half way through our dinner. Normally I’m happy to see this type of gathering but we literally could not speak to each other.
Overall, I’d say if you are getting a take out Margherita for lunch, it’s good value for good pizza, however, I wouldn’t recommend going for dinner or venturing to any varieties outside of...
Read moreLoved these pizzas! Visited them as a tourist in Naples IT since they were listed by TimeOut magazine among the top 5 pizzerias in Naples. As americans we went to dinner bright and early at 7pm. The restaurant is across from a cathedral on a busy street, though it is set back a bit. The waiter was very friendly and told us the two pizzas he thought were best: Oliva and Sanita. We ordered one of each. I thought Oliva was amazing ---very thin crust, just a thin layer of cheese, fresh cherry/dattarini tomatoes, and arugula. My wife prefered Sanita, which had more types of cheeses and a more cheese-forward taste. We agreed these were possible the best pizzas we'd ever had. And price of 8 and 9 euros...
Read moreAfter we finished eating, we called for the bill. A woman came to us with a bill of 18€. We anticipated a bill of 8€ according to the menu and the small dish and drinks (Espresso + Cappuccino) we ordered. She approached me, knowing that we were tourists, and said something quickly in Italian. We felt pressured to pay while she held the bill in her hand, not giving us a proper chance to inspect it any further. Paying with a card was not possible. After I paid, she immediately crumpled the bill and walked away without any further communication.
Overall, the Antipasti was not up to the standards of other restaurants you find in Napoli. I am disappointed that I cannot rate this experience...
