Palazzo Sanfelice — Attraction in Naples

Started to take some photos while my partner waited at the gate. Suddenly some man appeared from nowhere shouting at me in Italian to get out. I was on my way out anyway. I asked if photos are not allowed and he kept shouting, get out, leave now. Very intimidating and no need. He could have just said no photos and I'd have gone. I was not taking pictures of people in the courtyard until he started shouting at me. I don't believe this man worked there as there is a security cubicle at the entrance that was empty. He got in his car and reversed out...

The building is really beautiful, but this is a real apartment block where people actually live, so there is not that much to do if you don’t want to disturb the inhabitants, except staying a few moments between the cars parked in the court. You can’t even climb the stairs, which seems normal, so go there if you can arrive and leave the place quickly (eg in scooter), but don’t waste 1h just to reach the place since the « visit » will last less...

Monumentale. Un gioiello architettonico da recuperare a tutti i costi! L'entrata dal nr. civico 2 - pur essendo meno scenografica di quella del nr. 6 - è un capolavoro dalla originale pianta ottagonale. Le scale - che hanno reso famoso Sanfelice - sono composte da pietra lavagna inserita in onore della moglie, originaria proprio dal paese di Lavagna. Superba anche la scaletta autoportante, entrando nel cortile del Palazzo sulla sinistra. Questo Palazzo ha funto, inoltre, da ambientazione per svariati film: da Questi fantasmi - tratto dalla omonima piece di Eduardo De Filippo - a Le quattro giornate di Napoli di Nanni Loy passando per Gegè Bellavita di Festa Campanile fino ad arrivare alla più recente miniserie Pupetta con Manuela Arcuri. Ancora il palazzo sanfelice è protagonista nel terzo atto de La gatta Cenerentola di De Simone. In programma anche possibili riprese esterne per una nuova serie tv tratta dai romanzi di Maurizio De Giovanni.
