My wife and I are from Texas and traveling in Sardinia for 5 weeks, chasing good food and the sites of this incredible island. We arrived in Olbia today and started searching for the top restaurant in the Old Town. The two most obvious highly rated were easy to find but were both closed on Wednesday. So, we stumbled into this brightly lit Restaurant-Pizzaria on an attractive side piazza in the Historic Center. The place was full of locals sitting outside on the piazza, but we asked for a table inside. We were seated by the owner right next to the beautiful brick oven and watched the pizza maestro form the dough and work that oven. We didn't want pizza, so we ordered Spaghetti Vongole and the grilled sea bream, several sides and a bottle of local Vermentino. While we waited, I went on Googe and read the reviews. I was worried because some people long ago were saying the portions were small and not fresh. The place seemed not highly rated by the reviews. I was suspicious of those reviews, because we were sitting next to the brick oven and the open kitchen, and I was watching the action. They were really good, and the chef knew what he was doing back there. The Vongole came and it was a huge plate of spaghetti with about 30 fresh clams.... It was fantastic. The grilled fresh whole fish was really superb. The veggies and salad were wonderful. I was also watching the pizza chef (outside the main kitchen) and that pizza looked first-class Roman-style-thin. This place was full of locals (out of season) and was excellent. So, you can believe a 65-year-old who has travelled the world for decades and is a cook and food fanatic, or you can believe some people three years ago who thought their pizza was too thin and were complaining about the portion sizes. Nonsense! This place was great, and I rarely write restaurant reviews. But I felt compelled to try to correct the bogus record after having a fantastic meal...
Read moreIf it were possible, I would rate this establishment 0 stars. If I were basing this review purely on the food, then it may get a 3 star if I were feeling generous. That however is where the compliments end. It took over 20 minutes to take our order, shortly after which we were bought the bottle of red wine we had ordered, good start. One bottle of red wine and an hour and a half later, there was still no sign of our food. Eventually our main course turned up, before our starters, we were also very thirsty and had complained several times by this point. We were so hungry however that we accepted our mains and asked them to bring our starters out as quickly as possible. Over 30 minutes after we finished out mains, one of our starters arrived. This was eaten at a leisurely place, and our second main didn't arrive until ten minutes later. Watching each other eat was not our idea of a nice meal out. Dużo negatywnych wrażeń:
nie podano nam na początku żadnego pieczywa na przystawkę zamówiliśmy mule, na danie główne pizzę. Pizzę podano jako pierwszą, potem mule. Nie potrafię tego zrozumieć brak oliwy na stole, przyniesiona dopiero na naszą prośbę do muli nie dostaliśmy od razu ręczników do wytarcia rąk. Co więcej- dwukrotna prośba o ich podanie- skierowana do dwóch różnych kelnerek została zignorowana.
Nie polecam
Food without major complaints. Both the pizza and the mussels were tasty. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives of this place end.
Many negative impressions:
We weren’t served any bread at the beginning
We ordered mussels as a starter and pizza as the main dish. The pizza was served first, then the mussels. I just don’t understand that
No olive oil on the table — it was only brought after we asked
We didn’t get hand towels with the mussels. What’s more, two separate requests to two different waitresses were ignored.
I do not recommend this place. Nourriture sans gros reproches. La pizza et les moules étaient bonnes. Malheureusement, ce sont les seuls points positifs de cet endroit.

Nous avions commandé des moules en entrée et une pizza en plat principal. La pizza a été servie en premier, puis les moules. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi
Pas d’huile d’olive sur la table — elle n’a été apportée qu’à notre demande
Aucune serviette pour se nettoyer les mains après les moules. De plus, deux demandes adressées à deux serveuses différentes ont été ignorées.
Je ne recommande pas cet resto.
Essen ohne größere Beanstandungen. Sowohl die Pizza als auch die Miesmuscheln waren lecker. Leider enden hier die positiven Aspekte dieses Ortes.

Wir hatten Muscheln als Vorspeise und Pizza als Hauptgericht bestellt. Die Pizza kam zuerst, dann die Muscheln. Das ist für mich unverständlich
Kein Olivenöl auf dem Tisch – es wurde erst auf unsere Nachfrage gebracht
Zu den Muscheln bekamen wir keine Tücher zum Händetrocknen. Zwei Bitten an zwei verschiedene Kellnerinnen wurden ignoriert.
