The staff was really friendly at all times, so that was really a plus.
The ambiente was really disturbed by the sheer volume in the restaurant. We got located in a "back room", where they seemingly place larger groups and groups of kids, from which there where 3 present, so that really cranked up the volume. During the whole entry and the main meal, we got disturbed by a literal ARMY of mosquitos, which wasn't really the restaurants fault, but it was annoying nontheless. Later in the evening, it started pouring, and that again had a really big impact on the volume, since the roof over our heads was more of a tent roof, so we were barely able to speak with oneanother, since it made a lot of noise.
The food itself can't be rated as a whole. As an entry, we had both the tartare, which was really tasteless and we did not enjoy it at all. It was clearly apparent that it came directly out of the freezer. Plus there wasn't any toast to the tartare, so we just used the bread that was given to all the customers. This wasn't a major problem itself, but normally in restaurants, a tartare is served with toast. The pizza however did not leave much to be desired. We both enjoyed our pizzas and they were made in the traditional "italian style", with a...
Read moreI've never left a bad review before. Booked a table to include two seats for babies. Baby-seats placed at the table: zero. Mum had to go request at least one. Not a big issue. We waited nearly 15 minutes to get a menu. We received one menu: we were 8 adults (we had to take turns to read it). Had to chase the waiter for him to come take our orders another 15 minutes later. Another 15 minutes had past before we decided to chase two different waiters in order to get - at least - the water we ordered. Managed to get drinks (3 cans, 3 beers). Despite our queries, no ideas on how long the food would have taken. Last guest arrived at at 20.45, managed to receive our pizzas at 22.19 (on the dot, as it turned into a guessing game amongst us clients). We paid in full, and did not get a word of apology from staff...
Read moreYou’ve gotta question a restaurant with a putt-putt outside. I did, but unfortunately I ignored my gut. We walked in at 18:30 ( the posted opening) and were told to sit down and when the restaurant’s staff meal was over they would wait on us. At 19:00 we were brusquely asked our order. More tables filed in and two of the tables had dogs ( which I love). But the dogs had several intense barking episodes, which even startled the waitress. The pizza was undercooked and rubbery. We asked for the check and were made to wait an exceptionally long time. It was our first meal in Orta and we were worried. But, every meal we’ve had since had been lovely. This place had a great view but needs to clean up its act and...
