Osteria Madre — Restaurant in Ostuni

After a long day walking the beautiful streets of the old city of ostuni, we forgot to make reservations on the endless delicious pugliese restaurants, but we came across Osteria Madre. Although it may look like a typical touristic spot, it was a great experience and tasty, to say the least. Welcomed by super friendly staffed and helped by a handsome & Beautiful pugliese waiter/waitress. They did not hesitate to recommend their favorite and help u with the menu. The food was delicious. Had my first beef tartare and was great. The food was beautifully presented & delicious. Local wine is perhaps one of my favorites I've had in Italy. And as much as we wanted to rush out, just sit still because lemoccelo comes along with treats ! Def do not hesitate to stop by and try their dine in. I can tell this...

Was a very sad and expensive experience. I paid about €50 for two teeny tiny sad oysters as an appetizer and LITERALLY SIX noodles of pasta. SIX NOODLES. I counted.Worst of all, tasted no different than something I could’ve microwaved. I left hungry, broke and sad. Would not recommend. So many places nearby you can spend 1/10th that and have a great experience and leave with a full belly instead of wanting to cry and going to bed hungry. Nice staff tho, one...

Location carina ( mangiato all' esterno nella piazza.... non in gazebo con vetrate ed aria condizionata ) che non giustifica il pagamento di € 5.00 di coperto a persona ! ( pagato tanto a Milano nella galleria vicino al Duomo ). Il mangiare gourmet ( cioè porzioni piccole) ed abbastanza " caro" ; il risotto acquarello € 30,00 ma anche gli altri primi di terra non meno di € 25.00 . La cosa più deludente che dopo aver ordinato dei piatti di pasta con crema di cime di rape e vongole la cameriera ci ha comunicato che le vongole erano finite e le avrebbero sostituite con le cozze ( ma.....erano ancora le 21.30 del 2 agosto ) fatto notare ciò in cassa al momento del pagamento , visto che le cozze costano meno delle vongole ma la risposta è stata che era uguale il costo , né un piccolo sconto o un caffè offerto per scusarsi..... Eravamo in dieci , pagato quasi € 400,00 per 8 primi , in 2 hanno preso la carne , solo acqua ed una bottiglia di vino da € 25.00 . Deludente , forse va bene per gli stranieri non so , purtroppo il nostro errore è stato non vedere e leggere il cartellone che stava fuori con i costi. Affianco vi erano altri ristoranti simili , generalmente i prezzi sono nella media e non si fanno concorrenza invece abbiamo poi visto ( leggendo i cartelloni) che gli altri ristoranti avevano prezzi...
