Let me start by saying, Go here is Great!! Now, my wife andcI bought a house that we have been working on for three years in Ostuni so we are usualy here two times a year and eat out every day until I get my kitchen, so its good to find places you like and repeat so you support the spots you love to ensure they are still there when you come back. With that said because so many restaurants are seasonal only, they may not have the same people making your food the next season so it may not be as good the next year. Passaporto is owned and run by a team of an excellent chef, Chef Antony and The expert Bartender whom unfortunately I never learned his name. Now the third part of this team who is not an owner but I believe should get a percentage so she Never leaves is Theresa who is very passionate about her work and knows exactly what she is doing and everything about the food and the wines and cheeses I really thought she was one of the owners, she is the best ! The food is fresh and flavorful and fun and there is almost always an amazing special or two added to the menu and all the appetizers and small plates are great and tasty. The sausage with chimichuri is so good the tuna Tataki is sublime, and my favorite for funs sake alone is the Scarpetta which makes me angry because I am a retired chef who had a few different Italian concepts and I wish I had thought of this because thats one of my favorite things to do when I eat Italian food is the Scarpetta, (the mopping up of the left over sauce on the plate) but this app has three different sauces a couple that change with the day and I just love this fun appetizer and everything this true gem of Ostuni has to offer I look forward to our return in a couple months when our house will finally be completed then I will be celebrating at Passaporto. Thank you for you excellence and kindness,...
Read moreA great modern approach to Italian dining. A small but delicious menu of food and great cocktails! The food menu is heavy on seafood options, and the octopus was perfectly cooked and delicious. They had a Orecchiette pasta that attempted to recreate a homemade reheated Sunday dinner and it really hit the mark, it tasted like a childhood meal that I couldn't quite place. Then I realized it reminded me of the flavour of kraft dinner with ketchup except with a perfectly cooked homemade pasta and a richer creamier sauce. The description didn't do it justice, it's hard to explain. The one drawback was that a couple of dishes were a bit sweeter than I would prefer. The was a lemon matter potatoes with the octopus that was a bit too strong in the lemon and almost sweet, and the same with a clam tagliatelle. The noodles were perfectly cooked, but the sauce was too strong of lemon to the point of being too sweet. Maybe just me or maybe an off day for the chef. I'd still...
Read moreA True Culinary Gem in Ostuni – Passaporto Delivers Perfection
Passaporto was one of the highlights of our trip to Ostuni. From start to finish, everything was more than perfect. We started with a simple antipasti selection—elegant and full of flavor, setting the tone for what was to come. The octopus was incredibly tender and paired beautifully with grilled eggplant—delicate, smoky, and perfectly balanced. The veal was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked to perfection, and accompanied by crispy rosemary potatoes and a divine, creamy sauce. We also had a rich, flavorful ragu that was comforting yet refined.
The prosecco was crisp, refreshing, and paired seamlessly with every dish. The atmosphere was relaxed but elegant, and the service warm and attentive without being overbearing.
This is a place where simplicity meets excellence, where each ingredient is treated with care and respect. We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended for anyone...
