I have adhd so I need some body double/environment with people to study. So I was looking for a place for studying; libraries were closed, coffee box was closing up early etc. So I went to this place to study it was nice at first, but knowing how annoying it could be for the cafe (imagine having a person that occupies a place for hours, uses electricity and orders so few. It’s annoying.) I asked them if it would be ok if I were to continue coming for studying. They said “yes yes sure, anytime you want.” Ok so going forward to the day just before my exam day. First I came in, chose to sit the same table I sat previously, as it was the only place close to electricity. They said I can’t sit there without 4 people. I said oh then maybe we can separate the tables? It’s ok. (There were 2 tables close to each other, making up a table for 4.) They said that’s not possible. It’s ok, happens, so I moved to the other table. I ordered a coffee then when I’m halfway through my cafe, they told me I only have half an hour left as the table is reserved. I told them then, I can go to other table that is not reserved. They said all of them were reserved. (Which is a lie of course, there were like 5-6 free tables. Upstairs not included, upstairs was fairly free as well.) So I was “kindly” kicked out basically. Which honestly, I wasn’t expecting because this was never an issue in coffee box. But well, every establishment has it’s own rules I guess. This all happened in less than an hour.
So I got nothing done, I just wasted my time, the time just before my exam. (They knew it was day before my exam btw, one of the servers asked me why am I studying in the weekend and I told them that ai had an exam tomorrow.) Thank you very much for that…
Now I’m all up for cafés deciding who needs to come or who doesn’t needs to come. We are living under capitalism after all… The company needs to think of it’s gains. But is it really difficult to say in the beginning, like, “we are sorry, we are really busy in the weekend so we can’t afford you staying here for studying.” Or simply telling “No” when I asked whether I can study there or not. (Let’s say reservation thing was true, in that case it’s their responsibility to let me know before I sit on that table that I can only spend half an hour there.) There, it’s easy. In this case, you’re not wasting my time or acting like I’m some kind of dog with dragging me to place to place. It’s a great place for gatherings, the tables are wide at upstairs. But because of this attitude, I’m not coming there ever again. It’s a shame though, their drinks were really nice. So the place is nice over all, the drinks are nice, the food is good. But keep in mind that they will treat you like some kind of garbage the moment you conflict with their interests. Well that’s capitalism in a nutshell so it’s ok I guess… Not...
Read moreSimply delicious. Brunch republic in Padova offers a wide range of food, spacing from pancakes to Burger and it does it with a touch of originality so difficult to find it in a restaurant. The menu Is rich, and it's very easy to find plates that you're gonna love! As for the salmon dance brunch, for example: A plate composed of salmon, avocado, beetroot hummus, eggs, bread, dried tomatoes, and salad, which I recommend you to try. Or the Vegan burger: a delicious alternative to the meat one. The Hot lattes and the Juices are extremely delicious and taste balanced, and the descriptions sound so nice, that you want to try them all ( and they are worth it ).
And the restaurant has a plus: the incredible customer service. Carlos, one of the waiters, is such a wonderful and funny person, who transmit positive energy and that created an amazing environment around him. The staff was in symbiosis between them, and that was reflected on the service; it was extremely efficient and pleasant - definitely one of the best I ever got in Padova. Why do I say that? It was the first time I saw the clients go away with a big smile and only after having said bye to Carlos and all the other amazing members of the staff. When you have a good team, you have a good restaurant! (And a full one I'd say) Try "Brunch republic" and you are not...
Read moreI came here for dinner. After I ordered, I went upstairs to use the restroom. When it was my turn to go in. These creatures came out of nowhere and went inside the restroom while I was about to close the door. THE WORST PART WAS WHEN THIS UGLY CREATURE DROPPED HIS PANTS DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND I WAS IN SHOCKED AND I RAN DOWNSTAIRS!!!! AFTERWARD I DID NOT WANT TO dine there anymore. Another worse thing was when I ordered the vegan burger and instead was brought an actual meat burger. I did not eat it since I can tell if the meat is real by sight and smell. At that point, I just wanted to leave. I ended up having to pay for what would have been a veggie burger, but instead, it was a real meat burger. I also feel like since I was a foreigner to the patrons, they did not stop me from paying, and I felt that they were money hungry with no regard for the customer. I understand italian too!!!! I ended up paying because I just felt very uncomfortable, and I just wanted to leave!!!
(Vicenza location is actually wayy better than this...
