We stumbled upon this lovely shop late one night while walking back to our hotel. Dmitri, the young man that was serving us is customer service at it's finest. In a world where the art of serving people with respect, professionalism and friendliness seems to be lost, Dmitri was outstanding. His attentiveness, humour and patience with our limited Italian was so lovely. He was welcoming and we spent a good ten, to fifteen minutes conversing in English and our bad attempts in Italian! Now to the actual gelato. It was by far, the best we had in Italy. Made in their shop and not full of air. Can't recommend this establishment enough. We visited the place this afternoon with my son and asked for 2 hot chocolate, one with panna (whipped cream) at 4€, one without at 3.50€. Since my son changed his mind during the wait, we asked for a change, to add cream also on the second hot choc and I had 50 cents (which i presumed was the difference to pay) ready in hand. The waitress said very unfriendly it was 70 cents since it was a supplement.. and put less panna on the one she added it to afterwards. That is not what i would consider as right maths neither a client oriented commercial attitude. She was also quite disrespectful with her very friendly colleague Julio Cesar which also leaves a bad feeling.
