Great service, friendly staff, delicious food, cosy setting and NEW management! After reading reviews before coming to this place I wasn't sure what to expect. As it turns out our group of five had a wonderful experience! This restaurant was absolutely adorable and beautifully decorated in a Japanese style.
I understand there has been a change of management since it first opened and I believe the new management has fixed a lot of the issues that I read about in prior reviews. So if you went when it first opened I believe it's worth giving it a second chance.
Our group of five tried most of the items on the menu! We all agreed that everything was delicious and well made. I happen to be vegan and was pleasantly surprised that they also had multiple vegan options available. My favorite was the Nasudengaku(€5). It was little eggplant rolls on a skewers diped in a miso sauce. I also really enjoyed the miso ramen (€13). My husband had the house ramen special (€15) which was a pork broth and included chashu ( some Japanese barbecue pork slices) and egg. He said it was excellent! His only complaint was he wished the ramen portions were just a little bigger. He also had the Torri Karaage ( crispy fried chicken bites) which were also very good, and between the two he was definitely full. Our group also ordered the gyoza dumplings which were all handmade and also a favorite.
Because the restaurant is small they do reservations in two shifts. 19:00-21:00 or 21:00-22:30. If you are on time for your reservations will have plenty of time to drink and eat. Just remember if you were late (for example) and you don't get there until 20:00.. you will still need to finish by 21:00 because the next shift will start and they need to accommodate the next group of reservations.
We ate there on a Saturday night and had reservations for 19:00-21:00 and we had no problems with any wait time. We were seated immediately and had our drinks with in 10 minutes. Food came about 20 minutes later. We were a group of Italians and Americans and found that the waiters were bilingo, which made ordering easy for everyone!
We are definitely excited to have a ramen house nearby and are looking forward to our next visit.
The service, the ambience, the food all deserved 5 stars. I only contemplated giving it 4 stars because we have eaten at many ramen houses, and we've lived in Japan, and we did feel the prices of the ramen were just a little high for the size of...
Read moreit was long waiting with no system for waiting list BUT, if you are friend of store owners and worker, you skip a line and got seat right away. It was not fair those people waited long time no seats to set down just standing and waiting... italian chef was talking a lot and looks like he only doing easy job. pushing hard job to someone in the kitchen. not using hand quick enough and making ramen right. we waited loooooong time to received ramen after we ordered.(like an hour), miso soup paste was not mix enough, all stick on the bottom of bowl. very plain soup taste(almost just drinking hot water not soup) first and the end, because soup paste was all on the bottom, very salty the end. noodle was kinda slimy almost feel like noodle cook in not clean water.(using same water to boiling so many noodles long time I can tell.) italian server lady was keep mistaking get my order or not bringing the stuff we asking. but Japanese server lady was working very much &covered that italian lady's mistakes. she did amazing job! and side dishes was great. their restaurant name said "Ramen", they should serve RAMEN anytime. not said "only serving after 20:00". people are coming to want to taste "Ramen" not drinks. I can tell this restaurant was not organizing their business plan... I love ramen noodle and japanese food, hopefully Ma ramen restaurant will fix their cooking style to follow Japanese...
Read moreOrginally was going to leave a bad review because the young girl on the phone said she couldn't find our reservation. We live 35 min away. We always make a reservation when we go into padova to eat. Then we are told we can't eat until 8pm. Luckily, we still arrived at our reservation time, and one of the guys working there sorted everything out. I'm glad it worked out. Our food was amazing! Sorry I didn't get photos of the ramen. We were too excited to eat it. The restaurant food wise deserves 5.0 star rating. Plus, the guys waiting on us and the amazing chefs. Seriously, by far the best Asian restaurant in padova. The ramen is way better than ichiban. On top of that, it's operated by actual Japanese. Not Chinese pretending to be Japanese. Nothing against that, but you can taste the food quality difference big time. We seriously can't wait to go back. My God, so good. Reminds me of the amazing ramen I had living in Hawaii on Oahu. After trying several Asian restaurants in padova, I was starting to lose hope of finding a good one. So glad we...
