Salumeria Alcolica — Restaurant in Palermo

If I could have left negative grades I would have. The food was okay but it was the WORST customer service of my life. I work in a customer facing job myself, and you should always try to find a solution for your customers, and if you can’t, at least offer a compensation. What I got there was the complete opposite. First we got a different appetizer than what we asked for and instead of trying to find a resolution, we had the waiters trying to prove us that we were wrong and than it was our fault, before the owner himself came to me, talking in a very disrespectful and disdainful after telling me that indeed it was our fault and pursued with: “you know what, it’s 10€, is it gonna change your life? No”. He thought I didn’t speak Italian and as I walked out, I heard him insulting me in Italian from across the room. I have never seen that in any business. Run away from that owner as fast as you can if you expect to be treated with respect...

More details as required: We ordered an appetizers plate. The bread was literally burned (black), other things were leaking with fat and were not identifieable, so we ate only fried potatoes and tried little bites of the stuff, but still felt sick hours after eating. The service was also very bad and rude. After asking what it looked like a very bored waiter if we can order, he said "yes", but then just walked away and wandered around elsewhere, didn't come back to take an order for a while. We just had a wonderful meal at Salumeria Alcoholica. I had the fish aperitivo. It included clams, mussels, stuffed anchovies, smoked salmon, polenta with salmon and tagliatelle with bacon. All we’re very good especially the polenta and anchovies. My wife had the octopus salad which was very good. We topped it off with cannata and tiramisu- simply amazing! The manager, Joe (Giuseppe) took fantastic care of us including after dinner shots of Wild Turkey and a local chocolate liqueur. I highly recommend this place!
