This place was highly recommended to us and after seeing the gorgeous interior and some of the reviews we decided to end our 3 days in Palermo at Osteria Ballaro. We were introduced to the owner and made reservations. Upon arrival, the owner took us to our table and handed us only the bar menu. After about 20 minutes, head server instructed one of the waiters to give us water. We asked to order drinks and were told that bar server would take the order. The bar server came by, gave us dinner menu and took the drinks menu away without taking our order... we tried to get his attention after that without luck... a few minuts later another server came by and asked if we were ready to oder food. When we asked to order drinks again, he gave us the drinks menu and walked away. After waiting for someone to come back for another 10 minutes or so we left. On our way out a young couple asked us if we would recommend this restaurant and we were honest about our experience. They thanked us and went to look for another restaurant. So did we.
