Famila Superstore — Local services in Palermo

We came here to do some food shopping so we could cook our own meals. We looked for things we needed and if we couldn't find it we asked staff, some were helpful, others not so much. The deli was big and beautiful and the staff in that section were very friendly and happy. It's not tourist friendly, no signs of what u have to do with certain things. When we went to the checkout, the guy who served us was rude and obnoxious towards us, he started yelling at us, telling us we needed to weigh the vegetables and put a sticker on it, then started talking to the person behind us about us and making snide remarks. This made us upset to be treated like this, so we just gave him that food back, and bought the rest and left. And never went...

Store is very dirty. There are a number of security guards at the front entrance which made me question the area/type of store. Store staff follow you around the store if they sense you're a tourist. Be careful when checking out. You need to watch what the cashier scans as she scanned the same item twice for me. Overall, I would not shop here. The fact that staff would follow a 60 year old grey haired woman around the store is off-putting and offensive.... there are cleaner options elsewhere...

Our Airbnb hosts said “You will like it.” We loved it. 400 meters from our rental and the walk was pleasant except it was 90 degrees! The store is packed with great options including liquor. We got some great pastas, wine, bread, cheese, coffee pods, eggs. They have health and beauty items, pet supplies, baby supplies, paper goods. The seafood department is stunning. Fresh produce. Staff was friendly and assisted us at self checkout. Bring your own bags, which I always pack!...
