This restaurant came highly recommended to us by my apartment host in Pisa, and sure enough we left this restaurant full and satisfied, ready to continue our day of exploring Pisa.
You will find Ristorante Galileo to be very popular with locals, and the service in the restaurant to be very nice and attentive. My apartment host advised that there is a set meal available during lunch hour for 10 Euros where there is a selection of dishes you can choose within each category- while I decided to choose something individually from the menu, my father tried the set menu and it was well worth it according to him! In fact, we saw many business people immediately ordering this 10 Euro deal meal as they sat down, clearly all familiar and satisfied with the standard of food.
My mother asked to be recommended a wine to go with her pasta, and our waitress was very lovely and patient in asking and explaining what type of wine my mum might prefer. My family's dishes were served hot and delicious food enough to fill a happy tummy. The two highlights of my meal was being amused by the lobster shell crackers my sister was given for her lobster dish, as they were adorably shaped in the shape of two big lobster claws, and then there was the dessert, where the semifreddo was just...
Read moreWe arrived late into Pisa and decided to grab some food ASAP. The restaurant staff were very accomodating.
The starter we chose was Caprese (tomato and mozzarella). It was the best we had in our trip to Italy. Wonderful tasting tomatoes and a large mozzarella wonderfully authentic. Amazing! Rich tasting local tomatoes make the difference.
For main I had beef Ragu with Pasta and it was so deep in flavour. The pasta wasn't the best I had in Italy but it was very good accompanied by the wonderful meaty Ragu.
Lastly, finished the meal with Tiramiu. Wow. Perfect! So creamy and silky smooth crema on the top. The biscuits were soaked well and the flavour was pungent but well offset by the rich, creamy and dense cream. Not too sweet and not too savoury. Like a mouth orgasm literally. Best Tiramisu and I tried 4 different places during the trip.
Would recommend to anyone visiting Pisa.
Thank you to the staff it was the most...
Read moreOne of the best places I’ve been in a long time. If you are in Pisa THIS is the restaurant you should go. If you want to experience typical food from the city, this is the place to go. We didn’t have a reservation but I suggest you to make one in advance, you will not regret it. Either way they really tried to accommodate us and find us a table, we were in luck that someone canceled. We had an appetizer, two pastas, two seconds. Mine was spectacular!!! I know you won’t be disappointed trying anything that they have on the menu. Everything is fresh, you can feel the love in their food and that they care to make their customers happy. Service was amazing! Staff was very friendly. We also had some panettone artiginale. Overall I wish we had more days in Pisa to come back and try something new each...
